On Saturday, March 7th, U.S. Exchange Alumni Uganda (USEA) and the @AweAlumnae - AWE Alumnae Association successfully hosted the Women Entrepreneurs Katale at UMA Lugogo.
The event served as a critical marketplace and enterprise development platform, connecting 200 women-led SMEs with regulatory bodies, financial institutions, and new markets. By prioritizing economic empowerment and compliance, we are ensuring that women-owned businesses are not just surviving, but thriving and scaling.
Thank you to our partners, including UIA, Newmans, @Node_Group Group, and @PepsiUganda , for investing in this vision.
A huge thank you to our exhibitors, inspiring speakers, and the hundreds of attendees who showed up to support the #GiveToGain movement.
Together, we are building a bankable, scalable, and inclusive future for Ugandaโs economy. ๐บ๐ฌ๐ช
Jet lagged me showed up to an invite only session after a trip (story for another day ) and Iโm glad I did. This was an intentional yes.
Hosted by a good friend, Betty Ogiel, with certified John C. Maxwell coaches, we leaned in and played the Leadership Game (sales edition).
What stood out? The lenses ; how play revealed how we lead, listen, and allow ourselves to be led.

Absolutely inspiring.๐ก seeing our 2 groups leverage their SHG Revolving Fund disbursements to strengthen savings, expand small businesses, and drive community impact really shows the power of well targeted support.
Kudos to @thesharetrust and @LcaUganda for enabling this ripple effect proof that when capital meets vision, change multiplies.

Yesterday I checked in at @SheratonKampala for an inspiring session at the AmCham Womenโs Day Forum exploring the growing impact of women in the creative economy.
Women creatives are redefining industries, shaping culture, and turning talent into sustainable livelihoods. The conversation yesterday was a powerful reminder that creativity is not just art ,itโs innovation, leadership, and economic power.

This past weekend, the U.S. Alumni Apprenticeship Program, in partnership with Rotary Youth Leadership Awards (RYLA), had the incredible honor of mentoring and inspiring over 200 young leaders committed to building sustainable innovations and purpose-driven change.
From bold ideas to practical solutions, the room was filled with energy, vision, and the courage to lead differently.
A true highlight was exhibiting some of the most impactful projects to the President of Rotary International, Francesco Arezzo, alongside Rotary International Director-Elect Katongole Emmanuel and other distinguished Rotary leaders.
It was a powerful moment of visibility for youth-led innovation and a reminder that young people are not just the leaders of tomorrow they are leading today.
It was a great opportunity to see some of our star Alumni lead discussions reaffirming our mandate at USEA of building sustainable impact. When we pay it forward, leadership is not just practiced - it is multiplied๐ค
Thank you @RylaD9213 and the entire team that organized for the invitation and for creating spaces where young leaders are empowered to think boldly, act intentionally, and lead with purpose.

Fellow Countrymen, Countrywomen; and especially, the Bazzukulu.
The International Womenโs Day is an opportunity to recognise and celebrate the significant role played by women and girls, in our families, local communities; and Country at large. I, therefore, wish them all a happy Women's Day and to thank you all for using this occasion, to highlight the contribution of women and girls, in all the spheres of life.
