China and Pakistan called Kashmir a disputed territory yesterday.

Then India should start saying Tibet and East Turkestan are illegally occupied by China. 🇮🇳

Pakistan PM Shehbaz Sharif visited Beijing today and the joint statement said Kashmir is a dispute left over from history that must be resolved under UNSC resolutions.

India's MEA rejected it immediately:

“Jammu & Kashmir and Ladakh were, are and will always remain integral parts of India.”

But India needs to go further this time.

China raises Kashmir in every joint statement with Pakistan.

India has never officially raised Tibet or East Turkestan in the same breath.

That needs to change.

Tibet was an independent nation before China's military occupation in 1950.

East Turkestan has been under forced Chinese control since 1949 with documented cultural erasure, mass surveillance and over a million people in detention camps.

If Beijing wants to discuss historical disputes and UN resolutions, India has a very long list ready.

The same standard China applies to Kashmir should apply to every territory China itself holds by force. 🇮🇳

Chola Copper Plates dating back to the 11th Century will be repatriated to India from the Netherlands. Took part in the ceremony for the same in the presence of Prime Minister Rob Jetten.

The Chola Copper Plates are a set of 21 large plates and 3 small plates and largely contain texts in Tamil, one of the most beautiful languages of the world. They relate to the great Rajendra Chola I formalising an oral commitment made by his father, King Rajaraja I. They also showcase the greatness of the Cholas. We in India are immensely proud of the Cholas, their culture and their maritime prowess.

I thank the Government of the Netherlands and Leiden University in particular, where the Copper Plates were kept since the mid-19th century.

A saree worn inside ISRO’s mission control room is now hanging inside America’s Smithsonian Museum.

Not because it went to space. But because the woman wearing it helped India reach Mars.

The saree belongs to Nandini Harinath, one of ISRO’s celebrated “rocket women” and the Deputy Operations Director of the Mangalyaan mission.

She wore it on the day India’s Mars Orbiter Mission successfully left Earth’s orbit and began its 300-day journey to Mars in 2013.

Today, that same saree is displayed at the Smithsonian National Air and Space Museum in Washington, D.C., alongside iconic pieces of global space history.

Born to a maths teacher mother and an engineer father, Nandini Harinath grew up in a home that encouraged curiosity and learning.

Her fascination with space began while watching Star Trek with her family, long before she became one of the women leading India’s biggest space missions.

Over a 20-year career at ISRO, she worked on more than 14 missions, helping shape India’s growing presence in space exploration.

And through Mangalyaan, India became: The first Asian country to reach Mars and the first nation to do it successfully on its very first attempt.
