Let’s Make October the Healthiest Month Ever 💪🏽
Here are 12 powerful health habits that can transform your life, if you commit to them with consistency and intentional effort.
1. Eat Your Last Meal by 8:00 PM
- Ideally between 6:00 PM and 7:00 PM.
- After 8:00 PM, only drink water.
Late-night eating contributes to weight gain, poor digestion, and restless sleep.
2. Go to Bed Early
- Aim to be asleep by 10:00 PM.
- Get at least 7–8 hours of uninterrupted sleep.
- Avoid too much water before bed to reduce nighttime bathroom visits.
- Set a strict bedtime resist the temptation of social media or screens.
3. Start Your Day with 2–3 Glasses of Water
- Do this within 5 minutes of waking.
- Use lukewarm or room temperature water.
- Optionally, add a splash of apple cider vinegar, lemon, or cucumber (be mindful lemon can cause digestive sensitivity for some).
4. Delay Breakfast (Intermittent Fasting)
- Have breakfast 14–16 hours after your last meal.
- If dinner was at 8:00 PM, eat breakfast no earlier than 10:00 AM.
- Helps reduce belly fat, manage weight, and lower risk of diabetes and hypertension.
5. Cut Out or Greatly Reduce These Foods
❌ Table sugar and sugary drinks (like soda) ❌ Processed meats (sausages, bacon) ❌ Margarine and seed oils (sunflower, canola, corn, soybean) ❌ White bread
6. Limit These Foods
⚠️ Refined wheat (chapati, cake, mandazi, pasta) ⚠️ Refined maize (posho, ugali, pap) ⚠️ Deep fried foods (fried chips, fried chicken, etc.) ⚠️ Cow’s milk – despite what’s commonly said, cow’s milk is made for cows.

- Omega-3 fatty acids

- Magnesium
- B-complex vitamins
If you're over 45, consider a supplement to support hormonal balance or prostate health.
