I came across this news earlier today and dismissed it as a rumour. But it has been all over social media, and I still can't wrap my head around it.

Saudi Arabia reportedly executed two Bangladeshis over an alleged sexual act in Mecca.

Were they really a married couple? Was it really just a kiss, as people claim? And even if they broke a religious rule, was death the only answer?

Imagine travelling to a holy land with the hope of fulfilling a lifelong dream, only for your life to end in such tragic circumstances.

This is heartbreaking and deeply disturbing. If they had known, would they ever have made that journey?
