Directed by Pete Docter, the @Pixar film Up was released on May 29, 2009 to widespread acclaim by critics and audiences.
The film won two Oscars for Best Animated Feature as well as Best Original Score for composer Michael Giacchino.
Some of the National Animation Museum team recently visited the Mundo Pixar Experience in London.

The exhibition explores acclaimed director Wes Anderson and his films, including his stop motion animated films Fantastic Mr. Fox and Isle of Dogs.

Born on this day, Chris deFaria is an Advisor for the Museum and an animation producer. Before establishing Keylight and serving as the president of DreamWorks Animation, he founded Warner Animation Group and oversaw VFX strategies for films.

Born on this day, Tom Sito is an animator, animation historian, and professor whose work has made a lasting impact on the animation industry. He is President-Emeritus of @animationguild and served as VP of @ASIFAHollywood.

The National (U.S.) Animation Museum (@MuseumAnimation) celebrated Superman Day yesterday (Saturday 18th April), honouring the Man of Steel's rich animated legacy from the 1940s to the present day.
Also, a brand-new "Superman Experience" has now opened at the Warner Bros. Studio Tour in Hollywood.
The museum expressed gratitude to the Warner Bros. team for providing the museum an early sneak preview of the new exhibit.

The National Animation Museum team visited Jaws: The Exhibition, the largest mounted exhibition ever for Jaws, at the @AcademyMuseum.

The Museum celebrates Joseph Barbera!
Born on March 24, 1911, Barbera was an animator, producer, director, and the co-founder of animation studio Hanna-Barbera alongside William Hanna. The studio produced animated cartoons such as The Flintstones, The Jetsons, and Scooby Doo.

After taking London and LA by storm, the gates of Kong – the legendary home of the Grammy-winning Gorillaz – are now closed. Some of the National Animation Museum team celebrated the success of the tour with the staff on its last day in LA.

The Museum celebrates the legacy of Joe Ranft.
Born on this day, Joe Ranft was a @CalArts graduate, visionary animator, and known as “the heart and soul of Pixar”.
In collaboration with the Ranft Family Trust, the Museum recently presented artwork from the Joe Ranft Collection.
