Anyone else with fond memories of the Powerhouse Museum?
KEEP THE POWERHOUSE MUSEUM IN ULTIMO OPEN - Sign the Petition! https://t.co/4UbZQtXpuk via @ChangeAUS
A gross waste of public money that actually destroys what people know and love as the Powerhouse Museum. @ChrisMinnsMP@dmookheyMLC please listen to actual experts in museums, not contemporary art people.
The revised plan has the bouton and watt engine slightly less bricked up.. slighly.... sitting awkwardly at the end of a corridor is still an apt description

Unfortunately, you have to create an account, but it's not that bad a process. Remember to start your submission with "I object" to the Powerhouse Museum proposal to make sure they don't miscategorise it as a comment.
Attention everyone interested in the Powerhouse Museum re-development!
The proposal is being re-exhibited for comments until October 7!
Please write in, and clearly state "I object ..." if you object so that they can't mis-categorise it as a "comment" rather than "objection".
@mintomusings Why only mention the "previous Liberal Government", when it's the current Labor Government that has pushed ahead with the closure of the Powerhouse Museum at Ultimo, completely ignoring the will of the people? Labor is equally complicit in this vandalism and waste of taxpayer $.
Fresh plans for the Parramatta Powerhouse Museum’s interior expansion – including a major hospitality offering – have been lodged, but heritage advocates haven’t been won over by the changes. https://t.co/E6g2lcDFQL
@chrisminns@JohnGrahamALP@CloverMoore this reduction in exhibition floor space is an absolute travesty. I t is obvious we will never get a State museum of Applied Arts and Sciences ever again.
Display area of the museum is a disputed value.
20000 according to former museum people, 16000 or 11000 in old books, 15000 given as an official figure
In new plans it's 6000, 5100 if you don't the auditorium, or up to 8000 if you count other little areas. Still half to a third
On behalf of the Taylor family, Gai Taylor has called for the Powerhouse Museum to halt its plans on relocating the Catalina Frigate Bird II.

Another big day of interviews for State of Electronics “the computer history of Australia” with interviews with Sebastian Boell (academic) & Matthew Connell (principal curator Powerhouse museum). History came alive for a brief moment in very appropriate surroundings.
