🇵🇰🇨🇳 A high-level delegation from the Institute of Strategic Studies Islamabad (ISSI), led by Ambassador Khalid Mahmood, Chairman Board of Governors, visited Beijing from 11–14 June 2026 to participate in the China-Pakistan Think Tank Forum hosted by the Chinese Academy of Social Sciences (CASS).
The delegation engaged in substantive discussions on Pakistan-China relations, global governance, regional connectivity, economic cooperation, and emerging security challenges. During the visit, ISSI and CASS signed an MoU to further strengthen institutional cooperation, policy dialogue, academic exchanges, and collaborative research.
The visit reaffirmed the shared commitment of Pakistan and China to deepening their All-Weather Strategic Cooperative Partnership and advancing a China-Pakistan Community with a Shared Future.

Pakistan is being mischaracterised again for having ICBM capability.

Seems some staffers handed DNI @TulsiGabbard some old talking points that are divorced from current and existing realities. The testimony suggested Pakistan’s missile programme could threaten the U.S. homeland. That's absolutely incorrect and illogical. There's no rationale or evidence of this.

For their information, Pakistan has done no ICBM tests; has no intent and no infrastructure for intercontinental systems. Long range should otherwise be a non-issue amongst major non-NATO allies, who are also working synergistically in the @BoardOfPeace.

Our longest-range system Shaheen III (~2750 km) is regionally oriented for credible deterrence posture.

Meanwhile, actual intercontinental capabilities in the region go unremarked.

This is not analysis. It's narrative framing, which is a disservice to Pakistan-U.S. relations.

Pakistan’s deterrence is defensive, bounded, and threat-driven, designed to prevent war, not project power.

Misreading this risks 'real instability' in a nuclear region.

The arrest and extradition of Muhammad Shahzeb Khan is not a stain on Pakistan, it is proof that terrorism has no nationality, no religion, and no legitimacy. It's precisely such arrests that distinguish responsible societies from those that weaponize narratives for political ends. One individual’s actions do not define a country or its people. To equate 240 million Pakistanis with a terrorist is as dangerous and lazy as equating an entire faith with violence. Pakistan’s Foreign Office @ForeignOfficePk has rightly and firmly rejected this baseless claim. The Golden Temple (Harmandir Sahib) is one of the most sacred sites in the Sikh faith. For Pakistan, a country that is home to many Sikh religious sites including Gurdwara Darbar Sahib in Kartarpur respect for Sikh traditions is not a political calculation, it is a matter of principle and heritage.

Every year, Pakistan facilitates the visit of thousands of Sikh pilgrims from across the world through the Kartarpur Corridor, offering visa-free access and safe passage. This enduring commitment is not symbolic by Pakistan, it is operational, cultural, and deeply embedded in the ethos of religious respect.

To accuse Pakistan of targeting a revered Sikh shrine is not only contrary to ground realities, it is a cynical attempt to deflect attention from India’s own troubling conduct during the recent crisis. According to Pakistan’s statement, it was in fact India that targeted places of worship inside Pakistan on the night of May 6–7, an act that has gone largely unreported but deserves global scrutiny.

You can just look at so many Sikh accounts online who do not believe in India's disinformation and have categorically rejected it as an attempt to create discord between Pakistan and the Sikh community.

Weaponizing religious sentiments for strategic cover is a dangerous game. It risks not only inflaming communal tensions but also eroding the fragile norms that hold during times of military crisis. Such propaganda not only distracts from actual violations but also demeans the values of truth and accountability.
