EID Al-ADHA Mubarak. May Allah SWT accept their Hajj of our fellow Hajjis and bring them home safe to their families. I pray that we all become united just as when we are performing pilgrimage to the Holy Mosque or conducting Salah.
The Irish Senate passed a bill to boycott Israeli settlement products last week (thank you Senator @frances_black for introducing it). Watch this exceptionally candid and courageous debate that led to the bill's adoption:
Here’s a sad reality for many Palestinians in the West Bank and Gaza: the ONLY opportunity they get to see Jerusalem is if they’re sick and get a permit to be treated at a hospital there. That was just the case for my younger cousin and her mom who accompanied her.
Despite being an US born citizen, Israel affords me no rights as an American because I also have a Palestinian West Bank ID number. Among other things that means I can’t:
- get a visa to Israel
- fly to Tel Aviv (must fly to Jordan and cross the border by land)
- go to Jerusalem
Strength and power to #TheresePatriciaOkoumou for shutting down liberty island on the 4th of July to demand liberty for immigrant children locked behind bars.
#WomenDisobey
Among the many beautiful things at today’s march and rally were these kids, who sat down as part of the direct action in our shared call to #AbolishICE. Thank you to @ConMijente for your leadership. Together, we will #FreeOurFuture InshaAllah.

Before my primary, Julia brought her team to help our field operation. She and I knocked doors together.
Now we return the favor.
If you’re in NYC/Brooklyn, you can help her get on the ballot for September right now. https://t.co/LnAuaxUKWV
I won a nearly impossible race with:
- Not taking💰from corporate lobbyists
- Spending time with people that “experts” say don’t vote
- Sticking to a bold, ambitious working-class agenda
- A majority-volunteer team
Sometimes, the right thing to do *is* the winning thing to do.
