Procedure clinic today involved a colposcopy, circumcision, IUD insertion, and ended with a vasectomy. This is Family Medicine! #FMrevolution@UChicagoFM@IllinoisAFP @ErieFamHealth
Healthcare is a human right. I'm proud to work for an organization, with wonderful colleagues, who share this same vision. If you have the means, please consider donating to Erie Family Health Centers to help support the work we do! #GivingTuesday https://t.co/CjHkPQqumo
I am alarmed by the surge in reported COVID-19 infections, hospitalizations, and fatalities. This crisis demands a robust and immediate federal response which has been woefully lacking.
The cure is NOT worse than the disease. IL still has had over 2000+ cases a day, so it is a stab in the back to all health care workers for those who defy stay at home orders and protest. STAY HOME!
Spending the last week on service at a hospital, with 100 COVID cases and the 3rd highest number of patients on ventilators in Chicago, was an eye opening experience into why IL is not ready to re-open. Patients are dying alone in the hospital.
There are not enough beds to care for all the patients coming in, worsened by health care workers getting sick leading to floor staffing shortages and also not being able to find a facility that will accept COVID+ patients (understandably given they have been hardest hit).
Yes our economy is taking a hit and it will take a while to recover but these are people's lives we're talking about! Flooding the streets will only make this worse and last longer! The pictures I'm seeing online are upsetting & MI is already one of the worst affected states!
Newest version of the #ICUonepager on management of #COVID; added more details and clarified the treatment section (several investigational therapies; steroids NOT recommended) v2.4 #FOAMcc#FOAMed#covid4MDs 🙏 to all who gave feedback; download PPT from https://t.co/a5nxKnr6Q9
Beware the “unbalanced clinical role that focuses predominantly on individual outpatient clinical visits and separates physicians from most organizational innovation and strategy, as well as the colleagues, staff, and communities they serve.” https://t.co/r3LMGe7I1N
Discussing non-medical vaccine exemptions with a legislator, @GPlantMD asks for a show of hands from @OregonAFP members who support non-medical exemption. No hands up.
Dr. Elizabeth Steiner Hayward testifying HB 765 & 735, advocating for us to move towards value based payment. What an inspiration! @ESHforOregon @ohsufamilymed #OAFPAdvocates
This is sad and wrong. Yes we have many unneccessary ED visits that lead to rising healthcare $, however pts should not be diagnosing their own emergencies & should not be punished afterwards if they were wrong https://t.co/Ih3ib7CNJ1 via @cbsmoneywatch
