I had the privilege of meeting with IFAD Vice President Gérardine Mukeshimana at the IFAD Headquarters in Rome during the IFAD Governors Council in 2026. Our discussions on the collaboration between IFAD and Somalia were both constructive and promising.

We delved into key areas of partnership focused on enhancing agricultural productivity, Resilience of Rural communities and advancing Somali food security. I am encouraged by the commitment demonstrated and the potential this collaboration holds for sustainable development in Somalia. Together, we can make significant strides towards a more resilient and prosperous future for our people.
