If the ZEC Orchard Pool vulnerability was exploited, the exploiter would've started dumping the moment the vulnerability was announced, thus, tanking the Orchard Shielded Supply.
Orchard supply hasn't budged.
Exactly what I said
Once the smoke clears, you'll all realize that zcash was the only coin to attack vulnerabilities head on by using new AI models to their advantage
Pray for your favorite coin. I guarantee they are not doing the same, unfortunately
Zcash has unparalleled cryptographers, security engineers, and security researchers. And the community is heavily focused on continuous improvement and hardening the network. That's why it engages world class security researchers to look for bugs. And that's why the recent potential exploit was found. It wasn't by accident and it's a vote of confidence, not a cause for alarm. When it comes to any L1, there will be bugs. What's important is that there are world class researchers focused on hardening the network and staying ahead of the bad guys. This has always been and always will be the dynamic of building software that is secure. Onward.
@zooko@ShieldedLabs ty for a short and concise article🙏 Clearer than the other articles about this situation, and more informative.
ZEC will recover from this✊
Update: core Zodl wallet functionality has been restored.
✅ Send ZEC
✅ Receive ZEC
✅ Shield funds
✅ Keystone support
We’re still confirming the status of:
• Swaps (via NEAR)
• Flexa payments
We’ll share additional updates as they become available. Thanks for your patience while services come back online after the Zcash network update.

This is right.
Miners will look at, and compile the code before deploying. They question everything. It's in the own self-interest. It's how decentralization works - incentive alignment, without requiring trust.
This is why a soft fork was necessary before the hard fork. Miners knew there was a potential issue and agreed to stop mining Orchard txs for a time for the long term health of their own operations.
We couldn't immediately hard fork because they would have been able to see the issue in the code, which risked an exploit.
So, soft fork with majority hash rate to exclude Orchard transactions, then a hard fork a few hours later, where the fix was visible to miners, but not exploitable.

Zodl v3.5.1 is now available on the App Store for iOS and on GitHub for Android. Google Play is currently reviewing the update and should release it shortly.
With the Zcash network upgrade complete, updated wallet software is required to spend Orchard funds under the new consensus rules.
After updating, Zodl will work as expected for sending and receiving ZEC via Orchard.
As infrastructure comes back online, you may experience occasional delays. If so, run a Server Test and select the best-performing server under:
Advanced Settings → Choose a Server
Please note that any Orchard transactions attempted during the network upgrade window were not mined. If you are unsure about the status of a transaction, verify the TXID on the blockchain or contact @zodl_support.
@januszg_ Zcash's zk-SNARKs ensures orchard pool inputs = outputs + fees.
Turnstile Defence Mechanism ensures T-to-Z and Z-to-Z txns follow a valid path. Z-to-T is the zk-SNARKs job.
zk-SNARKs checks the math, Turnstile Defence checks the state logic.

Miner's need >50% to halt or control the network (shout out to Qubic).
Should Zcash miners/node operators have ignored the vulnerability instead?
