Police have released bodycam footage of the shooting of 17-year-old Dalaneo Martin from last month.
He was asleep behind the wheel of a car that cops believe to be stolen. In the footage of them preparing to approach the car you can hear them say "If he takes off, just let him go"

Their plan when south though when one of the U.S. Park Police officers got into the back seat of the car. When Dalaneo was startled awake and took off the cop was clearly shaken. He first said "Just let me out" then a few seconds later he shouts "Stop or I will shoot" and pretty much immediately opens fire, shooting Dalaneo in the back.
