The bottom line is that it looks like SARS-CoV-2 infects the dendritic cell using both ACE2 and DC-SIGN. It infects the type II pneumocyte and the endothelial cell using ACE2 and L-SIGN/CD209.
Glycosylation of the S protein spike affect binding and internalization by DC/L-SIGN.
More glycosylation, more binding and internalization. Less glycosylation, less binding and internalization.
Just like SARS-CoV.
Should affect virulence, both pathogenesis and transmission.
