A number of African governments are committing significant amounts of their territorial lands to carbon deals.
Some countries have drafted laws to guide carbon offset projects.
An engaging week at @UNCCD#CRIC21 in Samarkand. Lots of lessons from other organizations and countries on actions to address land degradation, and on including land tenure issues in these actions.
Lots of work to be done between now and #COP16 to ensure we do not lose momentum.
It was also a great honour to present @TMG_think’s work in Kenya, Benin, Madagascar and Malawi on integrating land tenure in land restoration programmes,
And to present the Civil Society Organizations’ (@UNCCDcso) position on land tenure at plenary.
An informative session where we got insights on how Armenia and Georgia are integrating land tenure in LDN,
and I had the opportunity to share @TMG_think’s experiences in mainstreaming legitimate tenure rights in LDN programmes in Benin, Kenya, Madagascar and Malawi.
