Always traumatizing to read such stories
You spend years barely surviving advancing your career . You quietly keep waiting for the future when everything will start making sense then you abruptly leave without experiencing the fruits of years of labour and sacrifice …. What a great loss to his family and friends and the entire community that would have benefited from the highly needed skills he has spent the past few years acquiring🙏.
"If Mexico lose most African Countries still stand with them.. South Africa must pay for what they did to all Africa nation🇲🇽.
"Si México pierde, la mayoría de los países africanos aún estarán con ellos... Sudáfrica debe pagar por lo que le hizo a todas las naciones africanas🇲🇽.
NEW UNION?🤔
So being told by my own DSG that I must be a paid up union member of the KMPDU to talk about issues affecting doctors did not feel nice. 😡
Not just because he was wrong but also because doctors and other healthcare workers in private hospitals go through a lot and they have no one to speak for them.
The KMPDU with all its archivements of long time ago only favors doctors in public hospitals.
The same public hospitals that hire doctors once in 5 years.
The bulk of doctors are actually in private practice and that is why issues of the @kmpdu do not get enough traction. Most positions in the last election went unopposed.
This is because the union is representing a minority.
During strikes we have to recruit @amsunuonbi students to appear like we have numbers.
To the extent that @MiskellahMD has to try and get @bonifacemwangi to join our protests.... absurd!
This is because this union is representing a minority.
Yet the current regime constantly refuses to on board private practice doctors.
Should private healthcare workers form their own union!?
Wasee wa private you are the majority.
Doctors are funny
Kwanza nyinyi wa TL
Time ya campaign and voting.... you guys are quite or being politically correct.
Sahii naona kila mtu anajifanya they care about interns not being paid.
You let nonchalant officials reelect themselves so that you can do the work for them!!!
The Matatu strike should be a learning point for all other unions
Especially health workers unions.
A strike should be short and effective. When I say that we will not participate in any strikes called by current @kmpdu leadership, its because they are ignored big-time by the government.
@Davji has given a strike notice of 90 days. Nothing will be done.
Then we will go for a strike as doctors for 5 months and then go back with nothing.
We will be begging the government to come to the table, they will not and when they do, they come with disdain.
It is time to change strategy @abimwachi (https://t.co/SxP7X51V69) Because while we'll be wasting members money on Vuvuzelas and mobilizing Uon med students to come for demonstrations, COs will be seeing patients uninterrupted.
Private hospitals and all striking doctors will be seeing patients away from the public facilities.
There will be zero urgency to end the strike.
You will have no negotiating power.
I ask every union leader who comes to Daktari A Quick One why private hospital doctors are not included in union matters. There's never a substantive answer.
With that division, nothing can be archived.
Then COs are doing the same and nurses are doing the same. We will go nowhere.
Why not have a united front with all stakeholders??
Tukiwaambia mnasema tunawachukia.
DOCTORS MEET CHIEF JUSTICE EMERITUS HON. DAVID MARAGA
Doctors in the KMPDU Reforms team paid a courtesy call to retired Chief Justice Maraga at his invite to his Karen home.
He had seen the events of Saturday at Safaripark and identified with the circumstances and was deeply concerned. We deliberated solemnly on the state of the union.
He gave a word of encouragement. He specifically raised concern over the state of institutional governance in the country, noting that the state has captured many institutions of checks and balances including sections of the labour movement.
Chief Justice Emeritus also sought support from the community of doctors.
We specifically offered technical support from amongst our followers who resonate with his ideology to assist his campaign come up with a manifesto on his health agenda.
Hon. Maraga promised to work with like-minded professionals who will seek to uphold the ideals of professionalism, integrity and respect for human dignity and values...

Formal Objection to the 9th May 2026 KMPDU ADC
Good evening Collegues,
Today I delivered a letter of formal objection to the illegal, unconstitutional and unprocedurally convened upcoming ADC on the 9th May 2026.
Collegues, we have been told many times that our katiba is the reason things cannot be done right, but today I present proof that even where the constitution is specific, our leaders have no good will to do right by members.
We continue to push for transparency, accountability and leadership that respects and dignifies its members.
Stay strong.

Safaricom removed a perfectly working M-Pesa app and forced this ‘one app’ on everyone, for what?
It keeps freezing, lagging, crashing, and can’t even search contacts properly.
Now, after the latest update, I need a SIM card on my phone just to use an app in 2026??
Did anyone even test this thing before rollout?
Nothing about this is better. Nothing.
People are just enduring it because there’s no alternative.
You can’t tell me I’m the only one dealing with this
HOW TO DESTROY A UNION
If you are currently studying medicine, things are not looking good at all. In 2024, the govt decided to slash Doctor Interns' salaries by 2/3rds. The Doctor fraternity was outraged. Doctors marshalled to resist this assault, uniting from senior professors to the junior doctors they had come for. The govt was not successful but not defeated either. They adapted.
They infiltrated the union instead, paying doctors CBA arrears in order to placate the membership into accepting this unholy alliance. Membership swallowed it hook, line and sinker.
Fast forward 2026, the govt, using our incumbents, successfully managed to pit junior doctors against senior doctors. This divide was sowed specifically just before the April 2026 elections. This created the room for the unpopular incumbents to rig themselves back in and claim the junior doctors were "many" and "organized" and they are the ones who wanted them back in. To the interns they told them senior doctors did not want them to vote because they infantalised them. This was not the case. Senior membership were not even aware the junior doctors would be voting as our membership is done through the branches to which no junior doctor belonged to up until a month to elections.
Nonetheless, we are here now. A stolen election, a severely disgruntled membership and a huge fracture in our unity. This is where the danger is. We are vulnerable.
If this year the govt decides to slash the next groups' salaries, we will not be able to resist in our current state. Those who think they are safe now should know that the fort is collapsing, and soon the entire fortress will be overrun.
Thank you for coming to my Ted talk.
It should not be lost to us that the KMPDU incumbency,in an unholy alliance with the govt, helped sanitize SHA despite their members warning that SHA was a trojan horse. Everyday, more and more Kenyans continue to be disenfranchised and voices calling for accountability are muted.
KMPDU ELECTIONS 2026
Dear KMPDU members,
We are aware of the confusion, frustration, and concern following the recent events. Many of you are asking what next and that is both valid and necessary.
Let us be clear: not all is lost.
What we are witnessing may feel like a setback, but it is not the end of the road. Processes can be challenged, outcomes can be questioned, and accountability can still be pursued through the right channels. What matters now is how we respond.
We urge all our supporters to remain:
Vigilant - stay informed and alert to developments
Resilient - do not be discouraged by temporary setbacks
Focused - our objective remains justice, fairness, and integrity
This moment calls for discipline and unity, not despair. We are actively engaging, organizing, and taking the necessary steps both publicly and behind the scenes to address the situation.
Avoid speculation. Avoid division. And most importantly, do not lose hope.
History has shown that truth and justice often require patience, consistency, and courage. We ask you to stand firm, trust the process, and continue supporting the collective effort.
We are together in this and WE are not done.

@Optimistickeny1@NgendoMbugua “Move on” only makes sense when the process was clean. When there are credible concerns, accountability isn’t obsession it’s responsibility.
