Fan for 28+ years. Focus OT, PT, EU (Legends). Don't care about fandom conflicts, so no follow-back if I don't know you. Follow for SW positivity / knowledge.
It's around 1995, 1996. I'm watching Star Wars for the first time, not out of my own free will. I'm determined to dislike it. I'm instantly hooked. In love. With a galaxy, a mythology. With a farmboy, a princess and a smuggler. A family. An inseparable part of my life ever since.
It doesn't matter how you feel about the Disneyverse. It's not an either-or thing. How much you like or dislike one has no impact on how much you like or dislike the other. It's not about substitution; just about having more stories to enjoy. Just about having fun. fin//
If you like SW books/comics, give EU/Legends a try. It's 100s of stories, so it'll be hit and miss. But the hits'll be worth it. Don't decide based on opinions of others. Just read. You decide if you enjoy. Even if you were the only one who does (never) — who cares? 1/
Where to start? I say, don't worry. Jumping in means having good reasons to re-read. I did it back in the day. Also, you don't have to pass a test, so you don't need to know every detail right from the start (or ever). I'm also happy to give pointers and there's a timeline. 2/
Monthly SW tip: You can like unlimited different things. Critics, other fans — unimportant. Only criterion is if *you* enjoy it. Why waste time talking about what you don't like? Talk about what you like. Positively. Not by contrasting it with what you don't like. #MTFBWY
I really always loved this little moment of Mynock panic. It's hilarious, if you think about it, and makes her so rounded as a character. Tarkin? Pffft. Vader? Nope. Mynock? 😱😫
New spot for my Expanded Universe/Legends collection. Still far from complete and mixed between English/German. But getting there bit by bit. I'll probably need to relocate it again then. 😎 Comics aren't properly sorted yet. #StarWars#Legends#ExpandedUniverse
@CSKawai @realmallard1@LauraMacDB@Jaydy2007@herecomeshamill@Tai_Chi_Jedi@Torkins88@Adiaphora_Miro I guess the easiest way would be numbered stacks and writing down which book is in which stack. Of course, I *need* to order them. The more granularly, the better. In the end, it'll be a multi-sheet Excel with color code, organized for maximum filtering options. 😎
@sw_holocron Well, one line was basically telling the Dark Lord of the Sith "Better don't damage my merchandise" to his mask. That counts at least double, I'd say.
A character I have always appreciated very much: Jedi Master An'ya Kuro, the Dark Woman. A wise teacher and a formidable opponent to Vader; she managed to get very much under his skin, too, before her end. #StarWars#StarWarsEU#StarWarsLegends#Jedi#DarthVader
