Another major milestone has been reached. Behind the scenes, MyWeather continues to evolve every single day as more of the platform comes to life. What started as a simple idea has grown into something far more ambitious, with each completed milestone bringing the long-term vision one step closer to reality. Every new system that's built lays the foundation for what's still to come, and while I can't reveal everything just yet, I can say that some of the most exciting announcements are getting closer. The progress being made is something I'm incredibly proud of, and I can't wait to start sharing more of the journey with you. Today, I'm excited to reveal the first major technology behind the future of MyWeather.
Introducing the MyWeather Operating System (MWOS).
MWOS is the new core platform that will power the entire MyWeather ecosystem. Designed from the ground up with scalability, performance and long-term innovation in mind, it will be responsible for acquiring, validating, processing, storing and serving weather data across every part of the platform.
Rather than each feature or service handling weather data independently, MWOS creates a single, unified foundation that everything else can build upon. This approach allows the platform to become more reliable, more scalable and easier to evolve as new technologies and capabilities are introduced in the future.
While MWOS doesn't generate forecasts itself, it provides the high-quality data infrastructure that makes advanced forecasting possible. Every future forecasting technology within MyWeather will be built on top of this foundation while retaining its own unique methods and capabilities.
We'll be sharing much more about these forecasting technologies in the next Development Diary, where we'll introduce the different forecast engines and explain how they fit into the MyWeather ecosystem.

Concordia, Antarctica has recorded a low of -84.1C, just 0.5C above it's all time low temperature record.
Reports suggest this is the lowest temperature recorded on earth since 2012, quite a severe cold spell of weather, even by Antarctica standards.
For the first time in a long while weather models are predicting rainfall ☔️
The downside is that it won’t arrive until next weekend, a cyclonic period of weather to end the month before the drier (& potentially hotter?) weather potentially returns in August.

Something big is coming to MyWeather. Over the past months, I've been working on one of the biggest and most ambitious projects I've ever undertaken—completely reimagining what MyWeather can become. Interesting statistic.
For the first time in recorded history, temperatures have reached or exceeded 35°C in three consecutive month, May, June & July.
While air temperatures will widely be >30°C tomorrow, locally mid 30’s, ground temperatures could reach as high as 48-50°C.
It’s important to only walk dogs very early or late in the evening to avoid burning their paws 🐾
Temperatures have exceeded 34°C today for the 8th day this year 🌡️
That makes it a record for the most number of 34°C or higher in a calendar year 👇
The record was previously set in 1976 and 2020 for 7 days

Unbelievable Model Run this Evening…
@Met4CastUK pointed this out, the graphic below is not in any way a forecast (especially since other models are nowhere near this extreme) but this is quite literally the first time I’ve ever seen 50°C forecasted by any model anywhere in Europe.
Sometime around mid July, this particular GFS run paints a genuinely outrageous picture where almost all of France would be deep in the 40’s and even hitting 50°C in the south.
Of course this is highly unlikely to occur but just the simple fact that a model is simulating things like this is concerning, especially after the historic heatwave Europe already experienced at the end of June.
The 12z GFS is perhaps the most extreme model run I’ve ever seen.
It’s forecasting 50°C for France, I believe this is the first time 50°C has appeared on a weather model for France.
June 2026 was the warmest on record.
A brief cooler spell at the beginning of the month pales in comparison to the significantly heat we saw last week and the prolonged above average temperatures during the 2nd half of the month.
Another record, consistent with climate change.
