A combination of declining foreign enrollment in American universities and low fertility after the "Great Recession" is causing universities to rethink their "business" models.

Under the surface, however, another force is at play: social change.

Young people are realizing that decades of tuition inflation, grade inflation, and credential inflation have ensured that these degrees are no longer worth it.

Why take out $200k in loans and miss out on 4-6 years of work experience and income for a job that pays $50K?
