One more Gujarat model

🚨 A 37-year-old Gujarat businessman, Bhavesh Lathiya, has been sentenced to 54 months in a U.S. federal prison for smuggling and distributing chemicals used to manufacture fentanyl.

According to the U.S. Department of Justice, Lathiya founded Surat-based Raxuter Chemicals, which illegally supplied more than 50 pounds of fentanyl precursor chemicals. Shipments were falsely labelled as products such as Vitamin C and antacids to avoid detection.

Lathiya pleaded guilty in April 2026. He was also ordered to forfeit $24,560 and will be deported after completing his sentence.
