Constant cropping of land leads to a severe loss of topsoil and Carbon, creating massive areas of land losing its soil biology, and biodiversity. If everyone went vegan it would be catastrophic for the environment. #soilequalssurvival
Vegan diets increase your Bit D requirements. Synthetic Vit D is not a replacement for Vit D. Vit D is found naturally in Fish, red meat, liver and egg yolks.
Soy foods can contribute to Vit B12 deficiency. Vit B12 is vital for neurological function. It is available in meat, milk and fish. Which is where the raw ingredients are from in Vit B12 supplements. So animals DIE to produce supplements for a Vegan diet. #notwhatitseems
2/2 So do you buy GM food grown using fossil fuel chemicals, or do you buy Organic food that uses animal manures as fertiliser? If the answer is neither you may go hungry very quickly.
1/2 Vegans need to be careful when buying organic food. Organic farmers don't use chemicals, so they generally rely on animal manures as fertiliser. Which means they rely on farmed animal's to grow their organic plant based diets.
Vegans are all about loving animals, but are they? Some vegans force their cats and dogs into a vegan diet, which is bordering on cruelty. Their short intestines are designed for meat, animals meant to eat plants have huge intestines such as cows. #catsanddogseatmeat
Soya's antinutrients are quite potent. 2 glasses per day of soy milk is enough to alter a woman's menstrual cycle. Many ex vegans claim that their menstrual cycle was very badly affected by their vegan diet. #drinkrealmilk
Information for vegans. Nearly all Soya and grains are grown as vast mono crops. To achieve this everything that can affect the crop is KILLED. How does that sit with the cruelty free utopia of this plant based diet. #plantbasedpropoganda
Do Vegans realise that 94% of soya is Genetically Modified? Some GM foods have antibiotic resistant Gene's. According to Medical News Today, there is a small chance that these Gene's can transfer to cells in the body or to bacteria in the gut. #eatnaturalfood
A huge number of dieticians recommend that processed foods should be avoided. This is bad news for vegans, because all soy based foods, and the meat alternatives are massively processed. Soya naturally has a horrid taste and no-one would eat it without it being processed.
@CatherineERobe2 I agree, it just annoys me when it is inferred that the vegan diet is devoid of death and suffering. Just because the victims aren't big animals with cute faces, doesn't mean they don't count. There is NO diet which is death free.
Most vegans cite animal cruelty as a major reason for going plant based. Do they really think that there is no death involved in their diet? A plant based diet involves death on an industrial scale. Over 1m living things per Ha are killed as part of the "cruelty free" vegan diet.
We are constantly told that a vegan diet is a balanced diet, yet they are medically advised to take vital vitamin supplements such as Vit D and B12. If it was a balanced diet surely they wouldn't need supplements? Also nearly all Soya based foods are highly processed. #eatnatural
Soya, a key ingredient in vegan diets contains Phytoestrogens and Isoflavins which resemble human Oestrogen. These can block Oestrogen causing infertility. It also reduces "natural urges", which is why it was used by Monks to assist with celibacy years ago.
Had another response yesterday regarding the CO2 of meat compared to plants. Yet again no mention of systems. Also no mention of the enormous loss of soil carbon, in monoculture mass production of plant based foods. Loss of soil and soil Carbon is a very real global threat.
@MysteriousFarm1 And in by doing so, disrupting the ecosystems killing insects etc, so is it acceptable to kill these as opposed to livestock??? Everything in the environment is inter dependent.
Had a response from a vegan highlighting the amount of water per Kg of beef. They always quote the feed lot beef figure of 2,000 litres per kg. Which ironically is the same as 1 kg of avocados or rice. Not to mention 12 litres per almond. #dodgyground#balancedargument#bylocal
Do Vegans realise that their diets fuel and promote chemical farming, with widespread use of pesticides, insecticides and herbicides in growing their plant based diets. Whilst lining the pockets of massive corporations. #oddlogic#buylocal#misinformation#airmiles
Veganuary, the month when people are encouraged to try a plant based diet, to help save the planet. So why pick a month when hardly any of the ingredients for this diet, actually grow in the UK? Instead they are imported from the four corners of the world. #oddlogic#buylocal
