@Jebadoo2 In twenty years of keeping sheep never have I witnessed my rams blunder about with any old random sheep when it comes to mating. They seem to know itโs the ewes who they need to get jiggy jiggy with. How ever do they guess? ๐
@Mattisamazing33 My first car, in blue. Loved it loads, so much fun. Used to transport my sheep in it, could take and the back bench seat and it had plugs in the floor so it could be hosed out and drain. Loved the lean into the corners which made passengers poo their pants.
@wesstreeting Before the 24 election, Starmer looked farmers in the eye, at the NFU conference, and promised not to introduce Inheritance Tax. He lied. Labour loathes farmers and understands sweet FA about nature and the environment.
@powell_peter My streams in April had already dropped to high Summer levels. Drought resistant grass species and perennial cropping food stuffs will become the norm.
I'm a farmer and I'm concerned about climate change.
The vast majority of our farm is on a south facing slope on thin soils on a hill.
Historically a benefit, during the drought last year it meant the grass just didn't grow.
Starting to feel similar this year.
@AaronBastani NFNF are a bunch of grifting astroturfers. Professional farmers have been warning government for some years that we face food shortages at best. Could be far more critical.
@implausibleblog When I was little our Mums would shoe us outside in the morning and we were told to come back by Teatime. We roamed around the countryside in a wee gaggle. Would never happen now.
Pasture, Dartmoor, grazed on a โmove often on rotationโ system*
(Not a hay field)
Wildlife and food production in the same place at the same time.
Work in progress, but we are getting there.
(* as everything is a abbreviation now Iโm calling it MOoR grazing! )
