@Elliesmommyy23 How did the transition go?? This makes me feel better, I just want to comfort her and get her down for naps easily and quickly 😅 but it also means my husband can’t help
@Elliesmommyy23 Girl do you still feed to sleep? I keep being asked how my baby will fall asleep without me if I keep breastfeeding her (she refuses a bottle, and nurses for comfort). She’s only 3 months but I feel pressure to get her to sleep on her own
A child loves their parents so sincerely from the moment they’re born.
Every time I think about that, I’m amazed by how many years of effort it must take to fill their head with enough hurt, fear, or disappointment for them to stop loving you.
@Elliesmommyy23 Literally me with my 2 month old 😂 gained 50lbs and lost 38 the first month cause I can’t set her down ever. Now losing the rest with all the carrier walks we’re doing 💪🏼
You might feel lazy and like you’re not doing anything while you’re pregnant but look at micropreemies in the NICU and how many wires and machines they’re hooked up to and know that your body is doing literally all of that; no wonder you’re tired — eat a snack, drink some water, and take a nap.
@bioenergeticmel At 5,3” I gained 50 pounds and lost 38 by the time my baby was 4 weeks. You’re so busy and sleep deprived with a newborn that you barely have time to eat properly. Breastfeeding also burns calories
Postpartum is always going to be the pits I think. No matter how much food you prepare, comfort things you buy, presence of community support. There’s a bit of a dark tunnel to trudge through you can’t really avoid.
Maybe you’re not supposed to be so perpetually jolly when you’ve just approached that thin veil between life & death, pushed your body to its utter limit and returned from that experience with a whole other person in your arms.
It’s a huge physical undertaking. It burns away whatever remaining delusions of invincibility and hubris existed in you from your youth. Seems like God has something to instill by making mothers slow down in this period of time.
Postpartum recovery is like the female parallel to a man returning wounded from the war; yeah you won but you have to rest and heal and feel like sh*t for a bit, maybe even a little ptsd. That’s the cost of life
@Elliesmommyy23@davedean37 Only when she’s just fed and my husband is off work to hold her! That’s usually my chance to choose between a shower or a meal. I own a bouncer and she loved it at first but has hated it the last week. I’m hoping she likes it again soon 😬😂
