Really disgusting to see the government and Independent Ireland vote against stopping the game against Israel.
We should not be playing against this genocidal apartheid state. Instead we should be leading the campaign to utterly isolate them on the world stage.
Israel must be sanctioned. There must be consequences for their ongoing genocide in Gaza. The Occupied Territories Bill must include goods and services otherwise it won’t work. Fianna Fáil-Fine Gael are now attempting to remove services. This must be stopped. We will fight this all the way.
Some nursing homes struggle to attract visitors. One in the Netherlands chose to invite roommates instead.
In the Dutch city of Deventer, a retirement home called Humanitas introduced an idea that would eventually gain attention around the world.
Rather than accepting loneliness as a normal part of aging, they approached it as something that could actually be solved.
For over ten years, Humanitas has allowed university students to live inside the nursing home rent free.
In return, the students spend about thirty hours each month connecting with residents. Sometimes that means sharing meals, having conversations, helping with technology, joining activities, or simply keeping someone company during a quiet afternoon.
They are not nurses or employees. They are simply part of the community.
At first, the idea sounded like a smart response to expensive student housing.
But the real impact appeared in the lives of the residents. Reports from outlets such as PBS NewsHour and AARP described seniors becoming more social, more active, and less isolated once younger people became part of everyday life.
What makes the story even more meaningful is that many students chose to spend far more time there than the agreement required.
Some even stayed connected after graduating. Over time, casual interactions turned into genuine friendships.
Humanitas didn’t really create something new. It brought back something many societies once had naturally: different generations living side by side instead of separately.
Maybe the issue was never aging itself. Maybe it was the distance we created between generations.
Sometimes the most powerful ideas are simply old human connections rediscovered.
Too on point not to share. This is great, but too bad the Orange Felon’s enablers won’t let him see it.
This Australian's reply to #Trump's rant about “NATO not being there for America” is perfect.
"Mate. You run a country with 600,000 homeless people sleeping on the street tonight. A country where 40% of adults can't cover a $400 emergency without borrowing money. A country where insulin costs more than a car payment and people are rationing it to survive. A country where medical debt is the number 1 cause of bankruptcy. A country where women are dying in hospital car parks because doctors are too scared of abortion laws to treat a miscarriage.
You lock up more of your own citizens than any nation on earth. More than China. More than Russia. More than North Korea. The land of the free has 2 million people in cages, and a quarter of them haven't even been convicted of anything. They're just too poor to make bail.
Your life expectancy is going backwards. You're the only developed nation where that's happening. Your infant mortality rate is worse than Cuba's. Your kids do active shooter drills between maths and English while you sell the gunmaker's stock to your mates.
Your minimum wage hasn't moved in 15 years. You've got teachers working 2 jobs and veterans sleeping under bridges and you just spent a trillion dollars flattening a country that didn't attack you.
And you’ve got a convicted felon, adjudicating raping, paedophile protecting, porn star shagging insurrectionist running the biggest dumpster fire war campaign since the Taliban thanked you very much for losing again.
And you're calling Greenland poorly run?
Greenland has universal healthcare. Free education. One of the lowest incarceration rates in the world. Nobody goes bankrupt there because they got sick. Nobody dies in a waiting room because their insurance said no.
'NATO wasn't there when we needed them." When exactly was that, champ? September 11? Because NATO invoked Article 5 for the first and only time in history FOR YOU. Soldiers from dozens of countries deployed, fought, bled, and died in Afghanistan FOR YOU. Australia wasn't even in NATO and we still showed up. For 20 years.
And you pulled out at 2am without telling anyone and left them to deal with the mess.
So maybe before you start calling other countries poorly run, have a look at your own backyard, you spray-tanned aluminium siding salesman. The only thing poorly run in this picture is your f----- mouth."

Here’s a plan to end it all: STOP ISRAEL. End all complicity and trade. Set them afloat in a sea of their own doing. The EU is a disgrace. Spain’s Pedro Sanchez is the only leader with balls & integrity. Show some grit! #michealmartin https://t.co/eS2N4ODhHK
"The Romans occupied England in the 5th century, so anyone of Roman descent has a historical claim to the land."
It's one of the best sketches I've ever seen, it is so accurate and highlights the situation in Palestine.
The bombing of the biggest bridge in Iran that Trump was bragging about today was a “double tap” strike & the second strike occurred while emergency responders were assisting the wounded. Targeting rescue workers and civilians is a war crime. The US and Israel are the terrorists.
🚨🇬🇧 BREAKING: British surgeon gives HORRIFYING testimony to the UK Parliament.
He describes how IDF drones arrive right after airstrikes in Gaza, targeting and shooting the injured, including children, right on the spot.
Repost this. Please I beg you
This is Israel, world
An Israeli soldier ordered a Palestinian youth to continue walking, then used him as a target for long-range shooting practice before killing him.
Tell us what you think of their actions!
Repost please
Today Israel is killing children again, like they do every day.
Along with racist apartheid laws to execute Palestinians only.
Don't stop taking action.
Do all you can.
Free Palestine. 🇵🇸
As a foreign journalist that lives and works in Lebanon I never wanted to be the centre of attention. After Israel launched an attack on me and my dear friend @AliRida_SB I was unwittingly catapulted into the limelight.
I have never courted "fame" and until recently not engaged too much in social media, which, while it has positives, is a breeding ground for misinformation and a proliferation of grifters speaking over the top of the people to whom this land belongs.
Over the past years I have made hundreds of films, but always raised the voices of the people, centring them and as a journalist for an international news organisation endeavoured to bring their stories to the world. It is a basic journalistic principle and one I try my best to adhere to.
More often than not war ends up as a cash cow for influencers, YouTubers and the like seeking internet fame and donations to allow them to continue their “work”. Sadly they often have no regard for the people on whose land they are treading or their safety - rarely, if ever, bothering to speak to them.
Lebanon is not “a war zone”. It is a land that belongs to its people. The “bombed out buildings” you pose in front of are people’s homes, their businesses, their lives and should be treated with dignity and respect - not simply a place for crass “hero shots”
This is the land soaked in the blood of thousands of martyrs, those that have given their lives to defend their homes. We must walk with dignity and humility. We are not and should never be the story.
Our job, especially as guests in this country is to raise the voices of the people, not for vanity shots or to promote ourselves as “brave” Unless you are bringing context, history, details and most importantly, speaking to the people then what you are doing becomes nothing more than tourism - exploiting the people for clicks, internet fame or money.
Journalists in the field should always defer to their Lebanese peers, the people that live here and know the land better than anyone, not act as “white saviours.” Lebanon has many great journalists, commentators, analysts, writers whose knowledge is invaluable to understand this country and its history.
We stand on the shoulders of giants and for as long as we are in the field our mic will remain the tribune of the people.

Did you know?
Teva Pharmaceuticals is one of the largest companies in Israel.
It is the largest manufacturer of generic drugs in the World.
Teva’s profits fund apartheid and genocide of Palestinians.
What can you do?
Teva is one of Ireland’s largest suppliers of generic medicines and many of us here in Ireland take Teva medications. In most cases, an effective and safe alternative exists.
As a patient:
It’s easy - just tell your Pharmacist you don't want Teva medications. You have that right.
Call your pharmacist and request a note be put on your file that you say “NO TEVA” because of their involvement in ethnic cleansing and Genocide in Palestine.
The Pharmacist will have no problem adding a note to your file and it will be completed quickly. This will apply to all your prescriptions going forward.
Whenever you’re in the pharmacy, you can ask the pharmacist for an alternative apartheid-free manufacturer for your medication (where an effective and safe alternative exists).
As a pharmacist:
Prioritise ordering and dispensing alternatives to Teva products wherever possible
As a doctor:
Add to prescriptions: “do not dispense Teva pharmaceutical products if a suitable alternative exists”.

People need to understand that Israeli officials wearing noose pins & popping champagne to celebrate the systematic extermination of thousands of Palestinians held in Israeli torture camps is functionally no different from nazis gloating about their gas chambers.
Evil incarnate.
