@Ghostcrawler personally, nothing would be predictable. I stopped pve because it is unrealistic to me. Both the events and npcs are all in a constant, eternal loop, which means players are also in the loop... but the majority got used to that mind-set. stuck.
@Ghostcrawler -npcs. make the usal stuff ppl expect...; then add wild-npcs and wild-bosses. where the mechanics are not tied to timers but instead RNG or opportunistic; change their weapons, skills, range; allow them to recruit/team-up with random npcs; some, if not engaged they run away
@Ghostcrawler@TheTrueCyprien the burning of teldrassil.
as Horde, you have to commit genocide and you can t even leave the faction or help civilians.
players are not really dictating the direction of anything... mere spectators of a book/movie that author wrote
@shroud@Ghostcrawler u on to something.
the lvling system(s) were initially there to facilitate entrance/acceptance of a low-gaming-culture. or low knowledge about pcs/consoles. this is no longer the case
it might even benefit both parties. clients get more content, because devs didnt waste time
@Ghostcrawler - class and spells lock/limited to one char.
- forced lore/story. lack of choice. heroe/villan syndrome.
- time+gear > skill
- lack of (optional) first person camera
- compromises that do not benefit the client
@SumoLuna Hunter-Gatherer-Yearn (based on the dark skin blue eyes people of europe, extinct)
Anhelare (supposed latin for yearn)
Villam (farm)
Salvos (survival)
Ancient Tech
Mercator (trader)
Rusticus (peasant)
Principium or Initium (beginning)
Origins oblitus or origins amissa
@SumoLuna If purpose is technology, building, farming ore/materials and travelling:
- Atlantis
- Unkown Civilization that built the Sphinx(theory that it wasnt the Egyptians)
- Holy Land (Jerusalem), theory that underneath there are structures 100k old. +meteor shard
- China pyramids
@SumoLuna If the game revolves around farmers/peasants, I suggest an ancient civilization where you could take ideas from. With evidence/support of writing and farming:
- Danube Valley Civilization (5.5k bc)
- Vinca Culture (5.7k bc)
- Sumerian Civilization (5.5k bc)
