Happy 75th, @Snoopy! 🥳
#DYK that Snoopy was the zero gravity indicator for the Artemis I mission?
Zero gravity indicators are small items carried aboard spacecraft that provide a visual indicator when a spacecraft has reached the weightlessness of microgravity.
Grieving the loss of one of my best friends, Jim Lovell. His extraordinary legacy is cemented by many space missions: Gemini VII, Gemini XII, Apollo 8 and Apollo 13.
Our mutual respect had no limits. The Gemini XII mission we flew together paved the way for the Apollo missions.
Heartfelt condolences to Jim’s family.
Farewell Jim. You will be missed, my friend. Godspeed!
A statement from the family of Apollo astronaut Jim Lovell on his passing:
"We are saddened to announce the passing of our beloved father, USN Captain James A. "Jim" Lovell, a Navy pilot and officer, astronaut, leader, and space explorer. He was 97.
We are enormously proud of his amazing life and career accomplishments, highlighted by his legendary leadership in pioneering human space flight. But, to all of us, he was Dad, Granddad, and the Leader of our family. Most importantly, he was our Hero. We will miss his unshakeable optimism, his sense of humor, and the way he made each of us feel we could do the impossible. He was truly one of a kind."
If you are looking up your voter registration on the @GaSecofState page be aware there's a current bug. I accessed the page and it told me my registration was being challenged and to call my county office. When I got DeKalb on the line they had me refresh the page. (1/2)
What happens when you combine an interest in radio history and some historic parks? You get to walk in Marconi's footsteps with some Parks on the Air activations.

It’s 1:11 PM on the Friday of Memorial Day weekend. Traditional time to dump all the news stories you don’t want people to see. What junk are we going to get in the next few hours?

On a beautiful summer day I hopped a Great Smoky Mountain Railroad train to see the sights along the Tuckaseege River on a 4 hour excursion. We saw the river valley and movie history, including the wreckage from The Fugitive."

I had a lot of fun in the Blue Ridge and Smokey Mountains this week.
Clingman's Dome is the highest peal on the A-Trail, and I didn't have a camera running during the hike up, the walk down is still a steep challenge at at net 13% grade.

Day 2 of the Regulator clock fix up. I think not only will it survive my fumble fingers, it will look good up on the office wall. I’ll do a video of that tomorrow.

This morning I worked the ISS in the parking lot of the Stone Mountain hamfest at 1225 UTC. Thanks for the contacts @k8yse, @ke8rju, @N8HI2, and VE2P??. Here's a recording, although I was having some issues with the downlink. 📸: @N4BFR#hamradio#hamfest#ariss#amsat 🛰️
Last time I was using the Laser Engraver at @decaturmakers I made a few tags for my cables. These have a coat of polyurethane on them. We'll see how they hold up. #hamradio
