I can concede that the average person might not like London because it’s expensive and the more affordable areas are often overcrowded.

There isn’t another version of Martinelli to discover. I think it’s time we accept that we’ve simply outgrown him as a team, and it’s probably best to cash in while his age and reputation can still command a considerable fee.

The Arsenal of 22/23 and 23/24 is not the Arsenal we have now. We’ve evolved from a young team breaking into the elite to a Premier League champion and Champions League finalist.

The standards have changed. The level has changed. The demands have changed.

Martinelli hasn’t made that same leap.

And that’s not an indictment of him or what he’s given us. Sometimes a player can be good enough for one version of your team but no longer be the right fit for the next version.

I think that’s where we are with Martinelli. We’ve grown. He hasn’t. Simple.
