This morning, @FAANews Administrator Michael Whitaker announced to the agency’s staff that he will be resigning effective January 20. "As I conclude my time at the FAA, my confidence in you to meet our safety mission has never been stronger," Whitaker wrote in his email.
He was unanimously confirmed by the senate in Oct. 2023. .Whitaker led the agency’s response to Boeing’s manufacturing issues, worked to address the air traffic controller shortage, and overcame challenges as a record-breaking number of passengers came through American airports.
