I have been waiting a loong time for some of this data. My fellow data nerds: this @ChildrensComm report is fascinating.
Children in prison often know each other from before. But this is a group of only ~500 kids across England and Wales. How can such a small number be connected?

Yesterday we shared the findings on racial disproportionality in youth justice diversion @NuffieldFound in London. Lots of discussion about how to ensure the report stays ‘off the shelf’ + the recommendations are specific to effect meaningful change @ICF_Mcr @mcys_mmu @uniofbeds

Important report further highlighting the crisis in harmful child prisons.

It calls for custody to be used only as a last resort, in welfare based establishments, and for the creation of a Department for Children so responsibility for all vulnerable children is in one place.
