“Roughly half of American school children have experienced at least some form of trauma — from neglect, to abuse, to violence. In response, educators often find themselves having to take on the role of counselors, supporting the emotional healing of their students...”
Educators may recognize the cumulative stressors that they face, but they don't always realize that their symptoms are a common reaction to working with traumatized children — and that these symptoms have a name. @jessica_lander@UKnowHGSE https://t.co/DRdz8kdEfO
"Every child deserves a champion, an adult who will never give up on them. Is this job tough? You betcha. But it is not impossible. We're educators. We're born to make a difference." #WorldTeachersDay

Excellent read, not only for parents, but for educators. Give it a read or a listen on Audible (which is how I squeeze in some extra learning during my commute). #SVSDEmpowered

These ladies right here... they are my ultimate team. Stepping in and stepping up without being asked, no matter the situation. Our school runs smoothly because of their daily efforts and I appreciate them beyond measure. #SVSDEmpowered
Have you met NBES’ wonderful Counselor, Alicia Moore? She is in constant motion and always ready to lend a helping hand. Here she is at our PBIS Assembly on 9/7, conducting a live Panther Pride ticket raffle for our students. She is a positive role model and huge support!
