Today, we honor the Black Americans and all brave service members who gave their lives for this nation, fighting for freedoms abroad while many still fought for equality at home.
We remember. We honor. We continue the work. #MemorialDay#UnitedWeWin
Communities cannot benefit from the build out of broadband internet infrastructure if they cannot access or afford it , or do not know how to use it. The $2.75 billion Digital Equity Act grants that Congress allocated to provide affordability programs for home internet service, digital skills programs, and workforce development training was canceled last year. We urge Congress to restore these funds and ensure that they are not rescinded or stalled. #SaveDEA #SaveDigitalEquity #DigitalAccess"
The $2.75 billion Digital Equity Act funds, provided by a bipartisan Congress through the Infrastructure Investment and Jobs Act, were canceled last year. These funds were intended by Congress to advance digital literacy, workforce development, and affordability programs that help families and communities get online and stay online. Today, we honor the extraordinary life and legacy of former President Jimmy Carter, who passed away at the age of 100. A champion for human rights, social justice, and global peace, President Carter dedicated his life to service, from his leadership as the 39th President of the United States to his tireless humanitarian work with the Carter Center.
His unwavering commitment to building a better world and lifting up the most vulnerable inspires us to continue the fight for equity and justice. We send our heartfelt condolences to the Carter family and join the nation in mourning a true servant leader.
