The National Federation of Cooperative Sugar Factories Limited (NFCSF) organised the Cooperative Sugar Industry Conclave 2026 followeed by the National Efficiency Awards — to recognise and celebrate excellence across various areas of sugar-sector operations.
The event was graced by Hon’ble Union Minister for Road Transport and Highways, Shri Nitin Gadkari; Hon’ble Minister of State for Cooperation, Shri Krishan Pal Gurjar; Shri Gurmeet Singh Khuddian, Minister of Agriculture and Farmers Welfare, Government of Punjab; and NFCSF President, Shri Harshvardhan Patil, along with other distinguished dignitaries and representatives from the cooperative sugar sector.
NCDC was honoured with the “Best Cooperative Financial Institution” award, recognising its significant contribution to strengthening and supporting the cooperative sugar industry. Through accessible financial assistance, term loans and other development-oriented support, NCDC continues to enable sugar cooperatives to modernise their operations, strengthen infrastructure, improve efficiency and enhance their overall financial and operational capabilities.

राष्ट्रीय कार्यशाला में डीप-सी फिशिंग को बढ़ावा देने पर मंथन

भारत सरकार के मत्स्य विभाग द्वारा 17 सितंबर 2026 को गांधीनगर, गुजरात स्थित राष्ट्रीय फोरेंसिक विज्ञान विश्वविद्यालय (NFSU) में गहरे समुद्र में मछली पकड़ने को बढ़ावा देने और एक्सेस पास और प्राधिकृति पत्र धारकों के साथ बातचीत पर राष्ट्रीय कार्यशाला का आयोजन किया।

कार्यशाला में NCDC, गांधीनगर के क्षेत्रीय निदेशक श्री किंचित जोशी ने सहभागिता करते हुए डीप-सी फिशिंग वेसल्स के वित्तपोषण तंत्र पर व्याख्यान दिया। उन्होंने बताया कि देशभर में 73 से अधिक डीप-सी फिशिंग वेसल्स स्वीकृत किए जा चुके हैं तथा बड़े Mother Vessel Projects के वित्तपोषण के लिए भी NCDC तैयार है।
तकनीकी सत्रों की अध्यक्षता डॉ. अभिलक्ष लिखी, सचिव, मत्स्य विभाग, भारत सरकार ने की, श्री अरुण कुमार एम. सोलंकी, अतिरिक्त मुख्य सचिव (मत्स्य), गुजरात सरकार तथा डॉ. सुरभि राय, संयुक्त सचिव, मत्स्य विभाग, भारत सरकार ने सह-अध्यक्ष के रूप में सहभागिता की।

कार्यशाला में डीप-सी फिशिंग को प्रोत्साहन, वित्तपोषण तंत्र को सुदृढ़ करने तथा मत्स्य क्षेत्र में बड़े निवेश को बढ़ावा देने से जुड़े महत्वपूर्ण विषयों पर विचार-विमर्श किया गया।

A Joint Meeting of the Cooperation Department, Fisheries & Aquatic Resources Department, Government of Nagaland, and NCDC was held in Kohima to discuss the formulation and implementation of an Integrated Fisheries Development Project in Nagaland, under the chairmanship of Shri Orenthung Lotha, IAS, Commissioner & Secretary (Cooperation), Nagaland.

Dr G Hukugha Sema, IRS, Commissioner & Secretary (Fisheries), Nagaland and Team represented the Fisheries Department. The Cooperation Department was represented by Smt. Bendangla Longkumer , RCS and senior officials of the Cooperation Department. Shri. Robert H. Touthang, Regional Director, NCDC, Guwahati, represented NCDC.

Discussions focused on existing cooperative initiatives and ways to strengthen growth of fishery sector in the state, emphasizing its potential and the scope for a comprehensive project covering the entire value chain.

High-level discussions were held on launching the Integrated Fisheries Development Project (IFDP) under PMMSY-II. NCDC is committing technical assistance & support in preparing the DPR to empower our fisheries sector in Nagaland.

Strengthening Collaboration and Boosting Dairy Sector Growth

NCDC has sanctioned ₹200 crore in working capital assistance to the Gujarat Cooperative Milk Marketing Federation (GCMMF/AMUL) to boost its business operations, strengthen the cooperative dairy sector, and ensure timely payments to dairy farmers.

Sh. Rohit Gupta, Deputy Managing Director, NCDC, handed over the sanction letter to Sh. Jayen Mehta, Managing Director, GCMMF, in New Delhi.

The assistance also reinforces NCDC’s commitment to strengthening collaboration with leading cooperative institutions and supporting the sustainable growth of India’s dairy cooperative movement.

Addressed the 89th General Council meeting of the National Cooperative Development Corporation (NCDC) in New Delhi today.

In the current financial year, the NCDC will disburse Rs.50,000 crore as financial assistance to cooperatives, which will be a tenfold increase from the disbursal made in the year 2013-14. Appreciate the NCDC for its role in strengthening PM @narendramodi Ji's vision of empowering the rural economy by strengthening the cooperative sector with the motto of 'Sahkar Se Sammridhi'.
