We contacted @TwitterSupport, who did not respond until after my account was reactivated. They have provided no reason for my account suspension, nor have they offered an apology. This sort of capricious treatment doesn’t speak well for Twitter’s role in free and open discourse.
Several weeks ago, a member of my team alerted me that our Twitter account had been suspended. This came as a surprise to all of us. After reviewing the terms of service, I could find no justification for this action.
I am happy to highlight an article written by a member of our organization and published in Property and Casualty 360 yesterday. It contains some great advice about #earthquakes and preparing for #emergencies, but then you would expect me to say that!

Early this morning, here in Salt Lake City, we experienced a 5.7 Richter Scale earthquake. Everyone at Poulton Associates is safe and sound. It’s a reminder that mother nature doesn’t pay attention to what we think, but we should pay attention to what she’s capable of.

Though Congress required the NFIP to raise rates in the Biggert-Waters Act to more actuarily sound levels, #NFIP rates have actually decreased over the last 5 years. Learn more about the issues with the NFIP in our latest report with @HazardHubUSA https://t.co/FVA5jDmWbJ
I had the opportunity to unveil the new NCIP & @HazardHubUSA report on Capitol Hill earlier this week. Thanks to those who joined us to talk #flood#insurance and my fellow panelists @raylehmann and @TaxpayersEllis. Get the report:

This is one of the fundamental problems with the #NFIP today. They are essentially encouraging development in flood-prone areas. Our new report shows loss ratios are higher in areas with high property values — where riskier development has been permitted: https://t.co/FVA5jDmWbJ
The Congressional briefing has come to a close. Thank you to those who joined us for this important conversation about the revealing data from the HazardHub report and the need for flood insurance reform.
