The Seder Plate is the focal point of the first two nights of Passover. The Seder tells the story of Exodus through the senses of sight, taste, and feeling. Some families add an orange to the Seder plate to symbolize the role of women and the LGBTQ community in Jewish life.

HBD, Lillian Wald! Wald founded the Henry St. Settlement & America's first public nursing school. In 1908, she campaigned for the addition of the National Children’s Bureau in the Department of Labor. She dedicated herself to the causes of immigrants, working women, & children.
HBD, Rebecca Gratz! Gratz helped found the Philadelphia Orphan Society to shelter & educate orphans. She pioneered the model of Jewish Sunday school, creating lesson plans & raising funds for schools to teach about the Jewish religion, history, and culture. (via jwa).
