My last day in @NorthwoodCPS today and it’s a day I’ll never forget. I was overwhelmed by the generosity of children and their parents plus the amazing staff. ❤️ This little one here is an excellent keepsake I just can’t believe a family made this for me💜🐻 #goodbyeNCPS 😘

We were generating ideas for what might happen in our exciting day on the island for a Grandad and Syd. The children used a double spread of the book as the hook for what might happen next. 👴🏼👦🏼🌊🏝

The children are most excited about creating their own stop frame animations using their clay sculptures, dioramas and their narrative writing. 🎬☀️🏝🌊 we have planned the narrative using Scratch. Here are some screen shots of Alfie’s first three scenes 🏡➡️🚢➡️🏝

The children have sculpted their own characters and designed their own island diorama this week. Next week the children will write their own narrative of an exciting day for Grandad and Syd on the island. 🏝🌊 @charliehacking

In preparation for our island diorama, we sculpted our own characters from the book. We can’t wait for them to dry so we can paint Grandad and Syd. 🏝👴🏼👦🏼

Tomorrow morning, Year 2 parents are invited to participate in a parent and child collaborate project. The children and their parents are going to create an island diorama based on our class book “Grandad’s Island” ☀️🌴🌊🥥
