I’m aware of evil plans aimed at me. Well, I’ve made my humble contribution. I hope this country traces its soul. I hope a time comes when we ask ourselves: Is this the best we can be? I leave now, but: SILENCE ALL ALARM BIRDS, SNAKES WILL COME IN SILENCE.
It was a pleasure.
I was content to remain aloof until last Thursday, when I was ambushed & cajoled by some prospective MEDICAL INTERNS to help them with their interminable struggles with @MinofHealthUG.
They were, of course, coming to me as a lawyer of last resort—desperate for a Perry Mason act.
Daily Routine of an Intern Doctor
Be the first on ward before your seniors
Make sure all the hundreds of patients have been fully clerked & notes written in all their files
Make sure all the Patients are investigated (otherwise you will get in trouble with your supervisors) including tests that 99% of the time we don’t have in the public hospitals & the patient can’t afford them outside the facility
Prepare a theater list for emergency and make sure they are all cleared, if not you can’t not leave duty so most time you end up into another day or 36-72hrs trying to clear the backlog and your duty continues without any rest
We haven’t Even talked about you making sure the procedures on ward, labor suit, postnatal, antinatal clinics, OPD are fully covered
Your duty is Monday to Sunday, but the hrs are through out the day/week with no rest
Usually you are taken to a random environment you probably have never been, so you have to look for Rent (in a secure place as your return home may be deep in the night) feeding, transport etc
And the government wants to scrap off their little salary

Just received disturbing news about the arest of our Juniors the pre-interns, our Lawyers @TheUMAofficial are doing everything they can to reach you and get you out
In Jinja children's hospital today. The wards were crazy: 282 hospitalised with 45 admitted overnight. The Emergency unit was a disaster zone; 3 children on oxygen on each available cot, several in coma, others receiving blood, one mother wailing "Omwana afa, leka ntwala eka".
So what's noble about this profession? His only crime is desire to take care of our sisters, brothers, and parents. He is only asking to be allowed to practise medicine 💊Must we beg for this? @MinofHealthUG Is this what you
want??

Dear Speaker @AnitahAmong, back home at Bukedea Health Centre 4, we have only one bed that delivers between 10-15 mothers everyday & this isn’t enough as 3 or more mothers may start pushing at the same time and the health workers have no way out #UgandaHealthExhibition
Senior House Officers(SHOs) Carrying out surgery at Mulago Main Theatre on Phone torch light after a 1.5hrs power outage. SHOs have not been paid for 4-6mo yet @mofpedU wants to scrap SHO & Interns allowances with effect from the next F.Y
#Deployinterns#UgandaHealthExhibition
@mubarakUG@UrbanTVUganda Deploying us without allowances poses problems to patients.
We have children to take care of and families to feed by the way.
The patients will either be extorted, or not receive the care they deserve because we shall have to fend for ourselves too.Idon't even get why u againstus
