Today’s story behind the numbers: This #FBI shuts down 13 websites backed by suspected Chinese agents that hoped to acquire classified and sensitive information on our government.

The operatives used fake consulting company websites to advertise fraudulent consulting job listings with the aim to recruit current or former U.S. government and military employees to provide their expertise to unspecified clients.

Their methods include:
- Fictitious personas or stolen identities
- AI generated photos
- Large payments for research reports
- Pressure to provide “exclusive” or “insider” information
- Transfer money from overseas into the U.S.

In the past two years alone, this FBI has increased counterintelligence arrests by 53% and continue to combat the cybercrime in all forms with cyber-related indictments up 158%.
