There is still no sight of #compensation for our farmers who have lost their entire stock of animals to the #ASF virus; in return they have lost their livrlihoods.
Can they ever recover the losses? Will they have any hope of Govt support in the future?
Such insensitivity!!
Hello everyone,
An important notice for our NEPPFA members and pig farmer fraternity from NE India. Coming 10/10/2021 NEPPFA is going to hold its Annual General Meeting. The mode of election will be online.
Regards,
Mrinal kumar Borah,

#AssamPiggerySector#neppfa
NEPPFA requests the department and the government to look into this matter and do the best possible to curtail any further spread of disease outbreak to other areas.
The Bottom line - The Piggery Sector of North East of India is highly "overlooked".
#PigMortality#Assam
Mr Tirtharam Boro, a resident of Akalibari village of Kalaigaon constituency under Darrang district, has reported of high pig mortalities because of a highly contagious disease from April 25th of this year.
What currently farmers like Tirtharam Boro and others need is veterinary support (more in the form of preventive treatment), free vaccines and insurance to start with. Currently the blood and post mortem reports of Mr Tirtharam Boro's animals are still awaited.
...in the near future in trying to make Assam self-reliant in pork and this way one of Neppfa 's objectives of making the North East of India a #PORK_HUB would be in process of a serious build up.
We are expecting progressive actions regarding #AssamPiggerySector.

Assam To Be Self Reliant in Pork - visioned by Honorable Chief Minister of Assam @himantabiswa
We are extremely happy to know that Honorable Chief Minister has set his eyes on the Piggery Sector of Assam.
It is the need of the hour as the Assam Piggery Sector, especially commercial pig farming, has taken a terrible hit from last year's #AfricanSwineFever in Assam.
We are hopeful that our perspectives, ideas and suggestions would be taken into consideration...
With deep sadness we share a big loss in our NEPPFA family. It is really very hard to believe that we have lost one of our gems Indranuj Das from us today due to Covid complications.
Deepest condolences from NEPPFA to his family and loved ones. May his soul rest in peace.
