King Hippo: The original "git gud" brick wall of the 8-bit era. 👑🦛
Before him, you could button-mash your way through. After him, you had to stop and solve a puzzle. No blocking, no blind aggression—just waiting for that mouth to open, landing the counter, and letting the pants fly. 🥊
Who else spent days stuck on this guy before playground rumors finally saved you? What was your ultimate roadblock in Punch-Out!!? ⬇️ #NES #RetroGaming
New toys today! I’ve been picking up instruction manuals for NES games and I got a new wireless N64 controller. I’m a fan of the original trident controller but I’ve heard good things about this one.
Some Everdrives feature save states
and the save feature that’s built into original carts (e.g. NES Zelda) works on them as well. They also feature the ability to use game genie codes without a physical game genie device. For the NES Everdrive, you just load as many ROMs as you want onto an sd card, stick that into your Everdrive, put the Everdrive into your NES, and go to town! Here’s a great review of the N8-Pro. https://t.co/JFyZoF06Xw
@XRPee1983 My Sega CD solution is to load ISO files on the MiSTer. But if I were to get original hardware, I’d probably get a model 2 to go with my triple bypassed model 2 Genesis.
NES Game of the Day: Mike Tyson's Punch-Out!! 🥊
Little Mac steps up to face boxing's toughest in this NES classic! Bob, weave, and punch your way to victory against Iron Mike.
Did you ever KO Mike?
NES game of the day: the Tengen version of Ms. Pac-Man on NES! The unlicensed classic with faster action, colorful mazes, and that addictive arcade feel. Who else enjoys chasing those ghosts? 🍒👻
What do y’all think about the Analogue 3D vs. Modretro’s M64 vs. original Nintendo 64 hardware?
I’m intrigued by the FPGA-based systems but I’m happy with original hardware.

My NES collection is finally starting to mature. I have more NES games than I did as a kid and by the end of this week I should be completing my Batman, Contra, & Double Dragon sets. I also have (2) 5-screw games: Kid Icarus and Mario Bros. #NESCollection#Retro#RetroColletion
@BlueShell3D That makes a lot of sense! Personally, I was initially eager to upgrade to the newer tech in the mid-2000’s and it wasn’t until I got back into retrogaming on original hardware (around 2016) that I realized the value of CRTs.
