In a surprising turn of events, Ishasha sector, a part of Queen Elizabeth national park has received 3 lion cubs increasing the number of lions in the wild that has been sharply declining.
Conservation efforts are need to keep wildlife numbers high.

So Lukwago is being charged with misprision of a treason case against #KB that hasn’t been confirmed by any courts of law.
We are a lawless country.
Let’s gather and cry.
#FreeKizzaBesigye
As a #HRD who has often faced state reprisals for my advocacy work landing me in prison many times,I don’t wish prison for anyone even for a second.
The imprisonment of SC #EL is to keep #KBs case stagnant.

Two weeks past since I and fellow HRDs were convicted and released from Luzira maximum prison after spending 9 months on remand for peacefully exercising our constitutional rights.
Our brutal and unlawful arrest on 1st August 2025 was as a result of a peaceful petition delivery to @stanbicug for its funding of the 1443km @EACOP_ a disastrous project under construction in Uganda. We were imprisoned for long and later convicted after a long law scuffle involving four magistrates that intended to silence us rather than serve justice.
The project’s construction has destroyed ecosystems in its path, also passing through protected areas like lake Victoria, Murchision falls national park not forgetting a part of Bugoma Forest ripped by the same thus extinction of flora and fauna like the Grey crowned cranes, Karamoja Apalis, Pancake tortoise 🐢 +++
@TotalEnergiesUG and other stakeholders are not bothered by the extinction of anything, displaced residents, broken families but rather PROFIT 💰over PEOPLE.
Hence with a solid voice I will never stop speaking against the injustices involved in the construction of the pipeline. A fossil free world for a safer sustainable future.

Eccl 1:9, ‘…there is nothing new under the sun.’
Mhoes thinks he’s the first ruthless human with authority and power.
3 yrs after his father took power Nicolae was killed at a firing squad. He must have been old enough to know that.
Time time time!

Kizza Besigye always reminds us how far a single human being can go to stand for what is right. Truly, Besigye's tormentors must be envious of who he is that they will never become. Bless you.
As we appreciate the efforts of others in advocating for change, we should also take time to reflect on what we have personally done to inspire the change we want to see in our grassroot communities.
On 20 February 2024, together with fellow environmental defenders, I participated in a peaceful petition delivery to Parliament opposing the mass destruction and deforestation of Bugoma Central Forest Reserve, following its transfer from NFA to UWA.
The possibility of going to prison was never the greatest threat i personally faced, missing exams in my final semester would have been more of a disaster than going to prison. It would mean a dead year for me. What would I tell Mukyala Afande (My Mum)… After our brutal arrest by police at Parliament during the peaceful protest, it became clear that the authorities were determined to have us detained. We were denied the opportunity to notify our lawyers, relatives, or anyone else who could help secure our release from the dungeons.
We were aligned before H.W Edgar and granted bail after 1 and half months. Thanks to @TumusiimeKato our lead Counsel , last year in July, we won the case and the forest might hopefully undergo restoration after the president gave a directive to transfer it to Uganda wildlife Authority due to National Forest Authority failed to curb rampant encroachment, mass deforestation and charcoal burning as well as land degradation.
Yet despite these challenges, we remain committed towards achieving a sustainable environment.
#HappyHeroesDay to all change makers.

Comrades… if you are near a police constable/officer, any judicial officer, please just slap them.
I have just remembered something.

Surrender has never been an option on any battlefield. More often than not, it is a ticket to subjugation by those you were fighting against.
In the fight against injustice, we will not bow to intimidation or state reprisals. Our resolve remains unshaken.
Aluta Continua!

This is already unfolding in my country #Uganda. With the @TotalEnergiesUG’s @EACOP_ pipeline reportedly nearing 80% completion, while its environmental and social impacts continue to grow.
The pipeline cuts through sensitive ecosystems, including Murchison Falls National Park and areas connected to Lake Victoria. Project affected persons are facing displacements, livelihoods have been disrupted, and wildlife habitats continue to be threatened. With several species gone extinct.
Yet when we PEACEFULLY petition against these injustices, we are arrested and imprisoned.
It’s a sick world.

Kampala, our beloved city habours over 5 Million people as of 2025 a population that produces over 2500 tones of waste everyday.
70% of this waste is organic which should be a blessing in disguise, however it’s not leveraged because only 40% is collected and below 35% of the population have access to formal collection services for disposal leaving the rest of the waste to end up in drainage channels thus wetlands and water bodies, burnt and other informal methods used to dispose it off where it decomposes.
Decomposing organic waste emits greenhouse gases that include methane which is very dangerous to the environment and ecosystems.
Run the figures…
▶️1 tone of controlled collection of biogas can generate 85Kgs enough to take a family of 4 people 3 months.
▶️Starndad dump fill like those of KCCA (Kitezi) can generate 50Kgs and if used for cooking, it can take approximately two months.
Nature has always provided sustainable solutions we nonetheless chose hazardous quick alternatives.
If we are to achieve net zero by 2050 as according to the Paris agreement, and to prevent catastrophic effects of #Climatechange and limit global warming we must cut greenhouse gas emissions.
Harnessing renewable energy like solar and biogas would not only save trees 🌲 mostly used for charcoal but also conserve the environment.
In this #GlobalWeekOfAction let’s not just preach a just transition but rather walk the talk by reductions in use of charcoal, fosssil fuels, putting an end to over dependence on fossil fuels and stop all oil drills like @EACOP_ majorly funded by @TotalEnergiesUG.

It’s now over 4 months since the climate activists were arrested on 1st /08/2025 for speaking out against the @stanbicug debt financing of the East African Crude Oil Pipeline.
@KATIITINOAH_A one of the 8 arrested activists has sent a powerful message to the public, reminding us that their voices remain firm despite intimidations. Their voices remain firm and the demand to stop EACOP only grows louder.
Glad to have participated at the launch of the Climate Change Integration for Educators (CCIE) programme, a new step forward in strengthening climate education in schools across Uganda.
The programme is designed to equip teachers with the knowledge, tools, and networks needed to meaningfully integrate climate change into their teaching and inspire sustainable action in classrooms and communities.
African governments speak about open data and transparency yet in practice secrecy remains the norm.
Information is frequently presented in highly technical language, complex figures and formats that are difficult for ordinary citizens to interpret.
Even where national budgets and public reports are published, they are not always truly accessible or understandable to the people they are meant to serve.
Press briefings are held and reports are released but many citizens still struggle to access clear, usable and meaningful public information.
We need an Africa where access to information is not just a principle on paper but a lived reality, where citizens can freely request and receive official government-held information including contracts, policy decisions and public expenditure data.
Join us this Wednesday at 6:00–8:00 PM EAT as we unpack this conversation further. #ActiveVoicesOfAfrica
The president ‘elect’ senile dictator of our beloved Uganda has sworn in today assuming power from today (2026-2031). This makes 45 years in power (if the 7th term is completed) yet the same reasons he claims took him to the bush marred this years general elections including election rigging, excessive use of force and brutal arrests to those that dared to challenge the injustices incorporated the election. Many are still incarcerated including those arrested in 2021 as well as H.E @AkisoBenjamin Benjamin Kyambogo Guild President who was arrested this year in Feb. He and co-accused will be brought back at Kanyanya Chief magistrate’s court tomorrow marking 100 days in incarceration.
Add him in your prayers and thoughts.
Let us all be there in support.

In a new report by @PriceofOil & @PowerShftAfrica evidence has shown clearly How Oil and Gas has failed to deliver Development In Africa. It further shows how EACOP has left many in displacement and without adequate compensation

Thank you very much from me and my co- accused our release was long overdue. Criminalizing us undermined justice, democracy and deprived our constitutional rights.
Climate action (SDG 13) is not a crime. Defending the environment is defending human rights therefore the government must end all reprisals against human rights defenders #HRDS. Climate justice is a human right! #StopEACOP
