باعث افتخار است که مدال یادبود رادرفورد را از انجمن سلطنتی کانادا دریافت کردم. این جایزه حاصل کار گروه بی‌نظیری است که در طی سال‌های طولانی من را حمایت کرده‌ند. از معلمان دبیرستانم در سقز-کردستان گرفته تا اساتیدم در ایران، ایتالیا، انگلستان، آلمان و کانادا؛ تمامی همکاران و دانشجویان که من را به چالش کشیده‌اند و دانشی جدید به‌من یاد داد داده‌اند؛ دانشگاه آتاوا و کانادا که به تیم‌ام اعتماد کردند و کمک کردند که رویاهای‌مان را پرورش دهیم؛ مهمتر از همه، دو بانوی برجسته - همسر و مادرم- که ستاره‌های راهنما در زندگی من بودند.
