@Sinnersaint39 Hopefully neither of our theories will be tested.
I don’t know an Islamic nation with enough deployable boots to invade the U.S., nor the technology to suppress the enormous geography of our nation.
The CCP, on the other hand, has potential for both.
@mbruggelivecom1 I think Hillary was the last push of the old guard in the DNC against the Marxists, when they pushed Bernie off the ticket. But she lost to Trump, and decided to give the Communists and Islamists the lead… as was soft-sold with the Obama term.
Regardless, they’re overrun now.
@BasedMikeLee The Marxists and Jihadists need an excuse to start their revolutionary war, and jailing opposition party Constitutional loyalists could be an effective trigger.
Free American state leaders need to let every American know they will provide safe harbor from Democrat Stalinism.
@amy_likes_owls@Therese56143133@Joeinblack One should not judge the capabilities and best aspirations of any bishop, and particularly popes, by their worst and most feckless examples.
We recognize the saints as examples to aspire to, and set aside the weaker examples of the less worthy, regardless of their vestments.
@Therese56143133@amy_likes_owls@Joeinblack Respectfully, popes of the past were quick to condemn Islam, showing solidarity with the sufferings of Christians under Islamic persecution. The same was true of Communism and Pope JPII.
A pope’s acquiescence to evil does not help those suffering under it.
@CaliRN619 Indeed— and jealousy/covetousness is inherent in the evil mind, because it cannot and/or will not create that which it desires.
From petty theft to human trafficking, arson, vandalism, and murder, covetousness unlocks the darkest impulses of fallen man… and should be condemned.
@CNSGg3214@JonathanTurley@realJeremyCarl Very true— and in many cases across the West, those barbarians are already inside the gates.
Poor education has kept too many from understanding just what lies ahead if these odious people take power. Survivors of Stalin, Mao, the Taliban, etc., are worth listening to.
@CNSGg3214@JonathanTurley@realJeremyCarl I think one might note, on the long view, that there were periods of flourishing and famine in most of the nescient states of the West after the 6th century.
Of course, those were impacted rising Islamic conquests from the 7th, and Marxist conquests from the 19th centuries, too.
What's interesting is that the early medieval period (commonly, if not academically, called the Dark Ages) was not so unsophisticated as some think.
There was still law, philosophy, and art inherited from the Romans and Greeks; all civilizations better than the warlord cultures of today.
@trish_regan Well Islam, as a totalitarian political philosophy, is already in violation of the 1st Amendment's Free Exercise Clause, so their tax-exempt status should be moot.
No one who adheres to a political philosophy aimed at the overthrow of the Republic should retain citizenship.
@elonmusk This evaporation of cultures struck me recently, while riding with my daughter and granddaughter through Disney's "It's a Small World" attraction.
By the time she's 25, Disney's vision of distinct people groups and cultures peacefully coexisting may be incomprehensible.
@TRobinsonNewEra Communists and Islamists don’t hold elections. They make appointments.
The West was once better off under the old squabbling Christian kings of the medieval period, than under the boots of tyrannical Communists and Muslims.
But we will learn this lesson of history soon enough.
@PastorBowman Yeah—many elements of historic theology seem like the pearls Christ warns about casting before swine.
I know we have a highly technological public marketplace of ideas, but it seems everyday more like standing to speak in a 1,000 acre Georgia pig farm… on a summer afternoon.
@brownmp Indeed. My experience is that in many larger corporations, and some smaller ones, that HR was more oriented toward employee welfare until the mid-2000’s.
But I’m sure mileage varies.
