Very excited to announce my first, first author paper is now published! In it I talk about understanding player experiences, focusing on #openworld games. #phdchat#gamesresearch
When is an open world, not an open world? When the bridge collapses. ๐งต1/

I've been on hiatus from this account whilst I descended into a writing hole, but today I officially submitted my thesis :) one step closer to the finish line ๐ฅณ
To those interested in interdisciplinary work in AI: friendly suggestion to maybe avoid calling psychology a 'social science.' It doesn't tend to go down well.
That's enough of my ranting. If you want to learn about real research (that's also very cool) on the topic of mental illness, generally and during times of crisis, @helsby_laura is awesome.
This is a very disappointing article from a venue I usually enjoy. The air of smugness whilst arguing anxiety is over-pathologised is not only insulting but harmful.
"Why not accept that we feel anxiety, as all humans do, but not that we have it, as a condition, as a diagnosis, that needs to be treated and accommodated and managed with drugs?" https://t.co/oHxByVDINp
So what is the point of this article? "If you're suffering with prolonged anxiety it's because you can't accept human emotions, so stop being fragile" is not a compelling or helpful argument.
"you have a masters in psychology," I whisper to myself whilst doublechecking the definition of content validity every time I use it in case THIS is the time I mix it up with a different validity
My first study is published! This was a huge endeavor to get across the finishing line but I've practiced writing, reviewing and copyediting.
Thanks to @dingstweets and Lina Gega for the editing and support
