@TupelosHoney Well said! Similar to this in my experience has been Monster Hunter Rise, which demands a fair bit of time in the crafting menu. The darling blacksmith keeps trying to talk to me, saying the same things, while I'm trying to concentrate :/

@KrsJin Just picked up Valkyrie Elysium on the steam sale, I really liked the demo and enjoyed VP1 a ton. Have had difficulty getting into VP2, but I'm still super excited for this one, partially because of your write ups!
I too have mixed feelings about Elden Ring but in the end it's 💯

@GarciaINCIDENT I have no issue with WoR itself, just the ending sequence. There's no resolution on anyone's arc except the twins (a little bit) and Terra; everyone else is just "there." I can see how the scenes upon finding them are the most important part, but I still wanted something more.

After my third attempt at Final Fantasy 6 I finally beat it today, and I must say I'm disappointed at the ending. I like how they made so many different scenes based on who you find in WoR, but I feel, in the whole game up to that point, they did so much more with so much less.

@KrsJin The colors are the only reason I'm waiting for the PC release! This desperately needs the ReShade touch.
Otherwise it would have been a day one purchase for me. Combat felt great, exploration too, and I love the original Valkyrie Profile.

She just took bodies. And wore them for a while, and then discarded them. No nuance. Just a thing she did.

I'll never forget how strongly the line from Record of Lodoss War "What is a body? Merely a dress to be worn and discarded with time?" made me feel.
Then, many years later, I watched all of the show and found out she meant it literally 🤣
