Question: Is the @NGObureau and @GovUganda using lack of compliance as an excuse to punish CSOs and NGOs? Are the NGOs engaged before suspension?

Response: The suspension was due to security concerns and investigations are underway and soon to complete.

Dr. Stephen Okello the Secretary of @NGObureau discussing at 2026 NGO Symposium 2026 . NGOs are not on the list of accountable persons, but the regulatory body is required to conduct risks based approach, after every 3 years - a risks assessment is conducted and currently, the regulator is undertaking the exercise! @OxfaminUganda
