A person may have spoken, but that does not mean we allowed them to tell their own story.

Today I began preparing to read a chapter from Resonance at an upcoming private event.
On the page, the reader controls the pace. In the room, that responsibility belongs to the speaker.
The work now is learning where to speak, where to pause, and where to let the words stand.

“I feel like true connection is possible in the presence of vulnerability.” - @KristenKelly
From an interview for my upcoming book, Resonance. Some truths only come out in conversation.
You already know what a story is about before you read it. The headline told you…not the facts, the frame. Passive voice hides power. Buried ledes hide consequences. Perspective determines whose reality you see first. Ask: Who’s missing? What’s buried?
