Manipur: 67 seized weapons, including AK rifles, from a “peace accord” group should unsettle every citizen. The pressing question is: how many still remain concealed?

As a Christian, we believe women are called to be peacemakers. Women with prayer can heal the family and bring peace to the world. But women with weapons, calling for war, tear apart the family and the nation.

We condemns in the strongest terms the actions of Tangkhul women affiliated with the NSCN-IM women’s wing who have issued an open challenge of war to the Kuki community. This is unbelievable and deeply un-Christian.

Scripture teaches us: “Blessed are the peacemakers, for they shall be called children of God” (Matthew 5:9). Christ calls us to love our enemies and pray for those who persecute us, not to take up arms and threaten our neighbors.

When women, who are meant to be the nurturers of life and faith in our homes, instead raise guns and call for bloodshed, they abandon their God-given role. This behavior worsens the wounds in Manipur and destroys the future for our children. It brings shame upon our families, our communities, and our witness as Christians.

We call on all Tangkhul women involved in these threats to repent, lay down weapons, and return to prayer. We call on church leaders, mothers, and elders to speak out against this warmongering. Our people need healing, not more violence. Our communities need dialogue and reconciliation, not open war.

May God have mercy on us all and turn our hearts from violence to peace.

We express our strongest concern and condemnation over the deeply disturbing allegations that have emerged against Saloni Tony, identified as the President of the Senapati District Students’ Association (SDSA), in relation to incidents that have caused fear, trauma, and outrage among affected Kuki civilians during the ongoing ethnic conflict in Manipur.

Among the most disturbing allegations are reports linking him to the assault and mistreatment of women. Particularly concerning are claims that during the UNC-imposed three-day total shutdown (20–23 April 2026), he allegedly physically assaulted a Kuki woman from Hengbung village who was simply operating her small shop to support her livelihood and meet her daily needs.

He is also alleged to be among leaders reported to be involved in the kidnapping and unlawful detention of 25+ Kuki individuals from Taphou. These allegations are extremely serious in nature and strike at the very foundation of human dignity, justice, and the protection of civilian life during times of conflict.

Student leaders have a duty to protect, not terrorize. Such acts are a complete betrayal of leadership and an assault on basic human rights. Violence against women and the unlawful detention of civilians are crimes that cannot be excused by conflict, position, or ideology.

We condemn these alleged actions in the highest terms. There must be an immediate, impartial investigation. If found responsible, perpetrators must face full accountability under the law.

No student leader is above the law. No civilian should live in fear of those claiming to represent the public.

11 lives. 11 families waiting for answers.
If these claims are true, silence is not an option. A transparent and independent investigation must happen immediately. Justice and accountability cannot be delayed when innocent lives are at stake. #KukiLivesMatter #JusticeForVictims

[N.Doungel @NHDoungel]

It is highly hypocritical that all the Tangkhul CSOs and their allies are condemning the Kukis, while being involved in kidnapping Kukis and ransoming them—one such victim, after being ransomed, narrowly escaped an attempt on his life after his parents paid the ransom.
