The Imaging and Analysis Centre is one of the Natural History Museum's scientific laboratories. We wanted to share some of the amazing things we get up to.
Following UK Government advice to limit the spread of the COVID-19 pandemic, the Museum will be closed from 13.00 today, Tues 17 March.

Will be some time before we can step through the doors @nhm_london again. 😥 Here's a Komodo dragon and giant salamander to keep us going. #MuseumFromHome
The @NHM_London was looking fairly glorious in the afternoon sunshine yesterday 🙌 Looks like it will be vacant for a while now... (in my mind the collections will 100% come to life and escape their display cases, drawers and cabinets whilst we're all at home...) 🦒🦏🦖🦅🦑🦋🐚🐾
I am not on the surface of an asteroid, but I can feel very well the characteristic smell the CM chondrite I am working on for today. It's so distinctive and strong! ☄️

Learnt lots dabbling in micro-CT, and enjoyed playing with molluscs for the first time in aaaaages on this cool paper https://t.co/SI4esInYiW with @Lauren_hSR@STWilliams_NHM@farahak and the @NHM_IAC !
The paper is now available #openaccess in Geochimica et Cosmochimica Acta https://t.co/8UkiVrHVR8. The new dataset of Ivuna bulk chemical data produced @NHM_IAC and new average Ivuna bulk composition.
The paper also contains new dataset of Ivuna bulk chemical data produced @NHM_IAC and new average Ivuna bulk composition produced using new and previously published data after statistical treatment.
Fantastic to see the new cast of Mylodon darwinii being presented to the Charles Darwin museum. So excited that an output of the Darwin's Fossil Mammal project made it all the way to Argentina! @NHM_IAC@ariadnemaze@10Tackles
Dr Vincent Fernández @vinfernand from the @NHM_IAC and previously @esrfsynchrotron presenting the challenge of synchrotron scanning a 1.5m long Heterodontosaurus #ToScA19
Marvellous micrometeorite: found on a meteorite hunt in the Nubian desert, a speck of the cosmic dust spiralling into the Sun, containing exquisitely unusual Al-Cu-Fe alloy. Authors include Jon Spratt @NHM_IAC@NHM_Meteorites@NHM_London https://t.co/wEEAnz6pS6
3D-scanning a dinosaur is a big job. Recently a team from the Museum spent several days and nights working on a Mantellisaurus skeleton.
@Tweetisaurus and @palaeojoe told us why they're sharing the data from this important dinsoaur. #MantelliScan https://t.co/RTeoivHlwc
