working across London with those experiencing homelessness -
on the streets, in hostels, day centres, on discharge - meeting them where they are to provide care
Although our service runs Mon-Fri we are always aware of how health needs don’t just take a break over weekends!
We work hard to make sure we communicate with patients, key workers & staff to ensure patients are signposted to services & understand how to manage meds or condition
Whitney, one of our passionate Wandsworth & Richmond nurses, is in Putney today seeing patients, promoting referrals & building up relationships within temporary accommodations
We offer nursing clinics & support at many supported, temporary & hostel accommodations across London
- in street outreach, in hostels & day centres & out of hospital care
working in Westminster, Hammersmith & Fulham, Kensington & Chelsea, Wandsworth, Richmond, Ealing & Brent
we meet our patients where they are, providing them with the healthcare & support they need & deserve
It has been a while since we last posted!
Sadly, we have been busy these past two years, we have had to expand as a team as the number of people experiencing homelessness & needing our care has increased!
We are now working across more London boroughs in a variety of settings
Our final speaker is our own Dom who is one of the lead nurses, he presented and opened up discussions around LGBTQ+ health and homelessness and how we can implement changes to improve access! #LGBTQ#homelesshealth
Thanks to our 3rd speaker Niamh from @homelesslondon@SolaceWomensAid talking and facilitating discussion around implementing gender-informed approaches as part of the women’s development unit!
Our second speaker was our own Emmanuel who is our health advocate who talked about his own personal journey and the important work he does with refugee and asylum seekers, prompted lots of discussions and what we can take away from it and how we can apply to practice!
Our first speaker was Amanda from the Roma Rough sleeping team from @StMungos learning about health beliefs and the community, this brought lots of discussions and how we can apply everything we’ve learnt to our practice as a service! #homelesshealth#romahealth
Getting ready for the team away day focusing on inequalities within homelessness! Presentations from guest speakers and from our own team! Learning about the Roma population, refugee and asylum seekers, women’s spaces and LGBTQ+ informed approaches! #inclusionhealth
