NICA is a Dallas based non profit working in rural Nicaragua. We provide opportunites for people living in extreme poverty to meet their basic needs.

We are very proud of our team that took some time to visit our friends in the village of La Cal in Jinotega.
They deliver some Christmas baskets and sewing machines to a co-op of resilient women. We are strong believers of women empowerment through unity and entrepreneurship

Today, we welcomed Sebastian Prado as our new volunteer. He will be helping student with math and English. He is originally from El Transito and is currently an industrial engineering graduate. He works as a senior coach at Sitel Nicaragua. #giveback #motivate #volunteering

Our SEC program is back!
This time 34 women are volunteering, by cleaning the streets, beach, water well and estuaries.
This program is going to run for 3 months, volunteering 3 times a week for two hours.

It’s been 5 months since we started the covid relief program, which benefited 600 families in El Transito and 950 in neighboring towns. We have concluded this program. Thanks to all the donors who made this possible. We will continue with our normal SEC program.

In our School Food program, we feed 300+ students everyday. Everyday, we have tourists come and volunteer. We have been able to get students to stay in school because we know that when their stomachs are full, they learn better.
