NITI Aayog’s Frontier Tech Hub has unveiled “Future of India’s Semiconductor Industry”, a 10-year roadmap outlining India’s vision for strengthening its position across the global semiconductor value chain.
Smt. Nirmala Sitharaman, Hon’ble Minister of Finance and Corporate Affairs, and Shri Ashwini Vaishnaw, Minister for Railways, Information & Broadcasting and Electronics & Information Technology, launched the roadmap on 29 May 2026 in the presence of Shri Ashok Lahiri, Hon’ble Vice Chairman, NITI Aayog, to chart India’s next phase of semiconductor growth and leadership.
Leadership in frontier technologies is not built in short cycles. It calls for long-term planning, sustained capability development and the foresight to invest ahead of demand. This roadmap outlines that path for one of the world’s most critical technology value chains.
As India moves from ecosystem creation to ecosystem deepening, the roadmap sets out an ambitious vision of building a USD 120–150 billion semiconductor ecosystem by 2035, while identifying key priorities and emerging opportunities across the semiconductor value chain.
The full roadmap is now available on the NITI Aayog Frontier Tech Hub website.

Wayanad district in Kerala demonstrated how a coordinated, community-driven approach can accelerate financial inclusion and social security coverage.
Under the SURAKSHA campaign, the district mobilised banks, local institutions, SHGs, and community networks to drive awareness and simplify enrollment in key social security schemes. Special outreach efforts ensured inclusion of remote and tribal communities.
Within 2 years (2023-2025), the initiative achieved 100% household saturation with ~4.2 lakh enrollments across schemes such as Pradhan Mantri Suraksha Bima Yojana (PMSBY), Pradhan Mantri Jeevan Jyoti Bima Yojana (PMJJBY), and Atal Pension Yojana (APY) - significantly improving financial protection for vulnerable populations.
The model strengthened resilience and ensured timely support to families through claim settlements.
These achievements have been documented on the NITI for States (NFS) Knowledge Portal - an initiative under the State Support Mission.
